Parkhotel Bad Schandau - direkt an der Elbe

Our room was very spacy with a large entry separating it from the bathroom. The location is fantastic with a wonderful terrace and garden overlooking the Elbe river. Parking was next to the hotel. The restaurant in the 'winter garden' served us twice very good dishes. It is just a 5 minutes walk along the river to the town centre and the ferry berth. Nothing really, actually everything was to our liking.

The location is wonderful It’s a very dated property and not worth the price just because of the location. There is some kind of hostility from the employees too. Maybe it’s just the way the people are there. The food in Bad Schandau is very sub standard, so the hotel food seems pretty ok.

The Elbaview double room was perfect: room full of light, magnificent view over Elba-river, very quiet and warm ( despite -11 grad Celsius outside in February). Big bathroom, also warm, with big heater towel ray (which was very helpful as after visiting Toscana Therme we had a lot of wet things). The breakfast was delicious: variety of meat, cheese, salads, as well as warm dishes (eggs, bacon, sausages, etc) and desserts (pancakes, croissants, jams, mousses, etc.). Staff were friendly and helpful, cleaning also good. Would be nice to have a kettle :) But this is if one really thinks hard what should be improved:))

Great views of the river from our room. Perfect location to explore the national park and brilliant hike very accessible starting at the passenger elevator drop-off right by the hotel. Decent food in the restaurant. Room was a little bit cold even with the heat on high. A kettle for tea/coffee in the room would have been ideal.

breakfast had plenty of options but can have more modern options of veggies and hot preparations The staff was just polite but not warm. For breakfast we asked to be seated with a view but were told we cannot sit there, even though no one came for 1h. Also there are less staff available .

The location is lovely and the hotel itself is also great, well prepared, clean, cosy and great breakfasts. The breakfast staff who were Czech were very nice, friendly and helpfull. They provided us with the information we needed and more. They supplied the work of the reception, unfortunatelly. They made me feel welcomed. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant was not friendly and welcoming. Upon the arrival I had to wait at the reception to be accomodated while the receptionist was inside. I waited for a while. Some of the reception staff does not speak English at all which in 4 star hotel is not acceptable. When I came to ask questions regarding the TV programsm the staff was not able to answer. I did not feel welcomed here.

Breakfast room was well laid out and had good selection. Room was clean and in good location. Bathroom was really small. Massage was booked and we weren't notified in advance.

Beautiful scenery of the premises, river view and huge wall-to-wall windows. Free parking. Bathrobes and slippers. No kettle in the room.

The property was beautiful and right on the river. Easy walk to restaurants, plus a very nice restaurant on property. Parking on site. Limited fitness hours. 24 hour fitness would be nice.

Nice and cozy room, with a view to the river. Very nice staff, and beautiful swimming pool. No privacy in the balcony on the first floor. No air conditioning
