Itaca Hostel

good location. kind staff.

The people who work at the hostel are so kind and beyond helpful. The hostel is small, and quiet which was so perfect for us. After days in the busy city. They have lots of events and different activities you can sign up for. And free walking tours of the city daily. The facilities are clean and beds are comfortable. The privacy curtain makes a huge difference and the rooms are so nicely air conditioned. The location is also a 10/10. So easy to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We absolutely loved this Hostel and would absolutely stay here again. We didn’t want to leave.

The atmosphere for this hostel was amazing. They succeeded in creating a cozy little space for the folks who are exploring the city to meet and befriend one another. The beds and the living quarters was kept really clean too. I wish there were more formal spots to hang our towels at, it didn't feel very hygienic to be hanging my towels from the curtain rods.

I liked how central the hostel was in the gothic quarter. It had a cozy feel since it was a smaller hostel and the communal spaces felt welcoming. The kitchen was well equipped and the free coffee and tea were a big plus. The staff was very helpful and kind. The bunks were basic but comfortable. The room was a little tight and having the lockers near the entrance of the room made it feel crowded. The bathrooms could have used more towels or tissues near the sink. I didn't realize that some of the social events wouldn't happen if there weren't enough people. A little more table/prep space in the kitchen would have been helpful.

Staff members were helpful

I liked their flexibility and that we managed to make preregistration and leave our bags there. Even if there's not so much free space in the building, it's pretty cozy. Also it's cool that their location is near the center. After we left, next day we had been covered in bites all over our bodies (but now after 1, almost 2 weeks we recovered, so all is good) I checked and found somebody had the same experience 2 months ago....so I think they have to clean first all building, because they have bedbugs.

Super friendly. Helpful. We did have our AC breakdown but they really tried hard to get it working. Really exceptional staff.

The room was always hot. The stairs and the bathroom have a humid smell. The stairs to the bunk beds are small and uncomfortable.

Super fun and social hostel, nice staff, I liked the events. Great location! I missed curtains around beds.

It would be better if there were curtains aroubd the beds.
