busy and convenient location. Specially during peak season this was a perfect spot. nothing

Had to try the breakfast buffet shown in the photos and found it amazing and great variety. The location was fantastic as near Palace Museum (Forbidden City) and numerous restaurants. The dress-up by many of the young women, and some men, was artistic and like a movie set. People were friendly and the staff helpful even with some language issues. Be sure to try some of the numerous local restaurants and foods available in the area. Wifi was obviously heavily limited so I recommend an e-sim card for China and leave the hotel to get service. Both my brother and I were unable to receive emails and most contacts inside the hotel. We also found the world news excessively limited.

Excellent location, comfortable bed, building had historical significance. Absolutely could NOT use personal phone in hotel with VPN despite having a local Chinese esim. Did not have this difficulty in most other establishments Iie restaurants). Without VPN on (ie no security protection) phone could access WIFI. Strongly suspect government interferance with phone trying to sustain VPN protection in this establishment. Large plaque outside explaining vital role of hotel during Mao's period in signing of important documents, etc. If you don't care about using a VPN/ potential invasive access to sensative financial data on your phone, no worries for you. WiFi worked fine on my husband's "dummy" phone. Front desk barely proficient in English. Completely unhelpful for 95% of our questions. For example, showed postcards, already stamped appropriately. Where can we mail these? Much confusion, consultation between various staff members. Finally we were handed a card with an email address on it and were either told to email our question to that address, or told that that email address was somehow related to the 10 stamped postcards I was showing them. I could not understand any of the 3 staff person's suggestions/explanations.

There is a large deposit charged on arrival. (Ours was about $600USD) The money comes back after check out, but after 1 month I still haven’t received the money back. If there is a large deposit due up front, I would like to know about in advance.

Its location only The staff didn’t understand english to help, the kettle cable was very short so i had to hold it up till it finishes, very basic room
-
Everything is at the hotel very old, needs renovation and replacement of furniture.
-
It used to be lot nicer than now. Not really.
-
As many other places in China, be aware some staff might not speak English.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. On check out day we were able to leave our bags there while we explored and they didnt charge extra. The best thing though is the location. It's central and easy for a didi/uber to pick and drop you off.

The location is in the heart of the city, steps away from attractions like the Forbidden City and Wangfujing. The rooms are large and comfortable, the staff are kind and helpful, and I am so happy to have stayed here. It was a phenomenal value. I am especially grateful to the staff members, everyone from the housekeeping staff, front desk team members and restaurant employees were patient, kind and helpful. I would have been lost without them! The room was a bit hot for my taste, but that may just be because of the intense heat wave. I turned the air conditioning all the way down, while the sensor said the room was 22 C, it felt closer to 24-26. That is perfectly comfortable for most. I still slept comfortably, and any negatives were offset by the great location and customer service.

Very spacious and quiet, even in the heart of Beijing. Very comfortable beds. The staff spoke very good English and was very helpful in assisting me in getting the most out of my stay.
-
The hotel is located in the center of Beijing next to the Forbidden City.
-
The location just a few minutes walking from the Forbidden City. The staff is very helpful. They changed my room and helped me to buy a new suitcase online. Amazingly it was delivered in 30 minutes. There is an amazing restaurant downstairs with the most delicious pot i ever ate. I highly recommend it.
