bayfront setting

The hotel is nice if a littel dated. Our room was big and spacious with a well stocked fridge and snack bar. The fire place is very nice. The balcony is shared with other rooms on the same side of the building and floor The grout around the tub is cracking and falling apart and water pressure in the shower was not good, The staff should be trained to help guest with normal travel questions. I needed to rent a car and no one at the front desk could help. The one employee behind the counter said - Im not even old enough to rent a car - that shouldnt exclude her from being able to help a customer with info.

Nice hotel with a balcony and space in the room

Hotel Bellwether is attractive and has a nice location near the waterfront on Zuanich Point in Bellingham. We had a deluxe plaza room with a spa tub and separate shower, a king size bed with 4 posts and elevated up off the floor by an extra 8 - 10 inches, so you had to be careful getting out of bed at night and watch your step. The furniture took up most of the floor space. The A/C unit vented to the small patio and was noisy when it ran. I didn't see from the photos online that you had to be an acrobat to get into the spa tub. My husband also agreed, so we both took showers. The faucet assembly was smack in the middle, which was a barrier, and the sill was up to 13" W and 21" H. Since the hotel had a lot of guests at the time, I didn't think they would have a room with a standard rectangular tub available, or I would've asked to switch. They offered breakfast at their Lighthouse Grill for an extra $55.00 per day per person. We chose to go to IHOP near W Bakerview Rd. They had a deluxe mini bar and mini fridge full of all kinds of goodies for sale. We didn't buy any of the items but maybe other guests would see that as a convenience. The little pod coffee maker was barely functional. There was no microwave. It was a nice room with beautiful artwork on the walls. There are 2 Anthony's restaurants nearby if you crave seafood or a nice brunch or lunch. They rushed us out at 9:00 on our last day, the housekeeping cart was at our door, check out is posted as 11:00.

We stay here prior to a sailing trip but it’s not just a stop over - it’s part of our holiday. The staff are super friendly and efficient. The food is amazing and we had a gorgeous suite overlooking the harbour. It’s our 3rd visit and already planning our 4th!
