Location was great with a beautiful ocean view. Rooms was spacious enough and comfortable. Onsen was big enough with the option of renting a private room too. The breakfasts were fun and delicious. Felt like Grandma was taking care of me.

Not the hotel's responsibility, but the boardwalk could be cleaner; I was being too mindful of where I was stepping when walking there. No complaints otherwise.

The room was spacious and a great mix of western and japanese style. Our private onsen had a direct view of the waterfront which was beautiful. The staff were all helpful and kind, and the breakfast/diners were delicious (and very generous). Neither I, nor my friend, have anything bad to say about our stay!

Restaurant staff and food was good Location is great but will not recommend Room was clean and I believe it’s very hard to maintain and they did a good job Receptionist staff. Not too friendly and inconsistent with information. They try to charge me at the restaurant extra days of beer and it was on the invoice. The facility was little old for my expectation. Not kept up.

My room had a lovely carving when you first come in, and had a nice view of the Beppu Towel. It also had a fancy automatic cold/hot water dispenser, which is the first time I’ve seen that in a room. It was on the same floor as the onsen, which was convenient. The onsen itself was lovely, and had a gorgeous uninterrupted view of the ocean if you bathed before it got dark. It was also very close to a bus stop to travel around Beppu and Kannawa. Breakfast was also delicious, and featured fish and tofu heated at the table while I ate. Honestly, no complaints.

Sediment apparent in the bath.

Wow this place was amazing! My partner and I were both feeling a bit under the weather and staying at a lovely onsen resort was just what we needed. The breakfasts and dinners that were included were phenomenal! The room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the bay. It was great to be able to sit by the balcony with tea and watch the water. The private rooftop onsen was well worth the price of 1000 yen a session.

Overall it was very good staying. Food menu, tub water, location, ambiance and staff was excellent. Beach access was also great too. It would be perfect only if they could do futon service just like any other ryokan. Also the futon bed was too thin to sleep comfortably on the floor. My back is aching next day to wake up. Also if they could keep the tub clener in communal area, that would be great too.

The men's bath was pretty underwhelming. It was just one furo, which was actually fine, because I was often the only person bathing. A couple of times, there were one, or two, other men in the bath at the same time as me, but only very briefly. The main negative about Seikaiso for us was that there was only one key provided for our room. At check in, I asked the young front desk clerk if we could please have a second key for our room, since there were two of us. He just said, "鍵は一つしかないです," lol. I mean, okay, we made do with just one key, but it was pretty inconvenient. Either we had to just lock our valuables in the safe, and leave the door to our room open, or else, we had to always try to coordinate returning to the room around the same time as whoever happened to have the key. Guess we could've left the key at the front desk, but we were only there two nights, so we just texted back and forth to try to come back to the room around the same time. A couple of times, I had to sit on a chair in the hallway, waiting for my wife to finish bathing, or shopping, or whatever she was doing, so she could unlock the room to let me in. Having two keys to the room would've made our stay nicer, I think.

Great staff that were friendly and accommodating. Literally nothing.

Room was spacious and comfortable. Really loved the private onsen on the roof! It's an additional ¥1,000 and definitely worth it.

The hotel provide private onsen for 1000 yen for 45 min. The food is good, typical ryokan food with beef, tofu and fried chicken, signature of Beppu. The in-room onsen is great with sea view. A little small but enough for 2 people. Our parent has room with foot bath which is nice for relaxing for long day of walk. The hotel is closed to the sea. The view from our room is nice. The hotel does not setup the bed for us for privacy but I prefer that they do it during our dinner.

Hotel is located near to Beppu Tower. Our rooms are huge & facing the sea, it was beautiful! Breakfast & dinner provided were delicious. We'd to lay our own futons, the quilts are warm & comfortable. There are 2 free parking areas for the guests. We are very satisfied with our stay!
