The host was easy to work with and very helpful at times. I asked if he was able to arrange a taxi to a local establishment, which he said that he did, but later said that the taxi was not available and that he would drive and charge me. I should have prearranged the cost, but he declined to tell me when asked. He charged me 50€ for what should have been about 16€ round trip. I was able to bring the price down a bit, but the situation was unpleasant.

Beautiful view,Aleksander is an excellent and helpful host NA

My room was gorgeous! The stonework, floors and decorations in my room were beautiful. The remainder of the hotel is nicely renovated and really beautiful. There are two terraces for great views and to sit and read or eat. I slept really well here and could not hear my neighbors. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the best breakfast I had on my trip. The orange marmalade was sooo good. The surrounding property is quite nice with pomegranate trees. Great location close enough to everything but not on a main street. Owner was very kind and friendly. There is nothing that I didn't like about my stay. Note - you do have to pay in cash and cannot pay through the card you used to reserve.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Aleksander is extremely kind and an exceptional host. The terrace views are unbeatable. The homemade breakfast was fantastic!

Great place and location

Aleksander went above and beyond to provide us the best experience. He made you feel so comfortable like you were stayin

Location is really nice with a very nice room and rooftop with a view. Parking instructions weren’t clear and we had to pay for a parking close to the property. Free parking mentioned on booking is about 10 minutes walk at the bottom of the hill and reaching the property with luggages from there is quite tiring.

The location and quality of the hotel are perfect. The owner-operators are wonderful people. That said, there is one inconvenience worth mentioning. There is no free parking near the hotel, and you are required to pay 10 euros if you want your car to be nearby.

Our stay at Vila Aleksander was exceptional. Our room was beautiful with lots of charm and good AC. The terrace view was unreal and it was so lovely to enjoy for breakfast and in the evenings after our day. Aleksander also went above and beyond, giving us recommendations and helping us connect with tours and a driver. We also got to fall in love with their sweet castle doggo Kiko, who was such a sweetheart. Unfortunately there is not great public transport nearby but that is of no fault of Aleksander and the Vila.

Breakfast was all home made and delicious! The property is beautiful and you can tell the family has done an amazing job remodeling. There are stairs to get to the property. Very friendly and helpful family!! Nothing.

Stunning views, beautiful traditional architecture and decor, and welcoming/friendly staff! I couldn’t recommend this enough!
-
Amazing hospitality from our wonderful host Alexander. Truly a unique and personal experience. Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace with the best view in the city, with eggs and fruits from the house garden. Calm and private, serene and beautiful. We never wanted to leave the hotel.

The hotel has the best location in Berat, right below the castle, you can easily walk to every tourist attraction within 15 minutes. The hotel is a completely renovated building, but following the same plans as the old building at that site and using all the original materials. The rooms are impeccable, the outdoor spaces are wonderful, especially the breakfast terrace. Our host was attentive and helpful and the breakfast is great. Highly recommended. As a warning, to reach the hotel you have to walk down a narrow alley and up cobbled stairs, you can't drive to the door, and your luggage wheels won't work. You have to park down the street (our host helped us with the luggage). Due to the nature of the town, built on a hill with narrow alleys, some of the rooms are a little dark.

Amazing location and Aleksander is a great person and host. We will come again to stay there. The location, old house details and the rooftop.
-
Cozy rooms, wonderful hospitality and a great location. Felt like members of the family when we came back from the rain and were served homemade raki and cuddled with the inn dog.

Exceptional

Great location, friendly owners, cosy room. Excellent breakfast. Very good breakfast / dining terrace with a good view. Extremely comfortable beds ! WCats and chickens. Curtains could be thicker, rooms not quite dark enough for us :) Seems a common issue issue in Berat generally

Nothing Extremly rude Owner, not accecible by car, have to walk long distance, not suitable for old persons

One of the most incredible places to stay. We even could stay in the best room with city view. Owner is super friendly and passionate and we totally understand!! Also the breakfast was one of the best we had!
