Bethesda Marriott

The Marriott Bethesda was extremely nice. The staff was friendly. Check-In and Out was easy. The parking was secured and the restaurant, room service, exercise facility and pool were wonderful. We will be staying here again.

Great stay, reliable

So upon arriving (@4:30p after a 3hr drive) to the property the outside& entryway appearance did look good, Elevators were poorly maintenance and filthy. Exiting the elevator to my flr. Floors in the hallways not the carpet, but the floor were very dirty& damaged,cracked floor. Upon entering room breezeway &bathrm. appeared clean, refrigerator, stand and amenities on it were very dusty and dirty double queen beds in the room. The bed near the patio door was dirty had appeared someone with flaky dirty skin had laid on top of the bed, maybe dead shedding skin on the floor as well when call front desk to have them remedy the situation while I went to the pool for three hours came back to room. The bed linen had not been changed or cleaned called to the front desk a 2nd time due to linen still had not been changed or clean 8 o’clock at night. Had to call the third time and was asked if housekeeping came up and changed the linen they did not 10 minutes later housekeeping arrive handed me a top duvet &2 flat sheets and had me change my own bed. The rate I was quoted was $253. I was charged $300 for my stay. They did waive the parking fee due to the dirty bed. I think as being a member of Expedia& Marriott Bonvoy this is unacceptable. They explained it was nothing they could really do for me being as though I book through a third-party (Expedia). If feasible I would like a full refund. In the future I don’t recommend staying at this location until they maintenance the building.

Breakfast was fantastic. Didn't like paying to park each day. Paying to park. Bathroom had a pee smell.

Excellent experience from check in to check out. Only complaint were the slow elevators. My mother isn't able to use stairs easily, so it was frustrating waiting for an elevator. The room was comfortable and well cleaned. We also appreciated the care our check in clerk gave to make sure we had all the information we needed about parking and the restaurant services.

The Marriott tries to be a better hotel, but it is not. They will charge you $13 per day for WiFi; Parking fee of $25 per day; Very small refrigerator in room; No microwave; No A/C in the hallways so very hot; inefficient toilet (low water level).

Hallways, entry ways and walls are stained, damaged and rusted. $50 for parking on top of room for one night is ridiculous. Restaurant is good but extremely expensive. $25 for a hamburger.

Staff were very helpful!

The staff is great and there's a nice pool to wade it. It only goes to 4ft, but it's enough to enjoy a break from the heat. The breakfast is a little pricey, but varied and delicious with a fantastic person who makes custom omelettes. The rooms are spacious with big tubs and waterfall showerheads. It's so relaxing and peaceful.

This hotel was outstanding! Very clean and comfortable room. If you are coming to NIH this is the best choice. It’s actual walkable if you are up to it.
