Location is the only saving grace for this hotel. No staff on site and the WIFI was not working and still is not so I could not do any work and I had to buy extra data and could only use my phone!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything apart from location. Not being able to talk to someone in the hotel. The saving grace was the young girl who was occasionally there she was lovely and tried to help.

Disappointing

Location and maid were lovely. Bedding was clean. No internet, Lairgate guest couldn’t be found in room 16. Room tired, dated , in need of some repainting , regrouting, generally scruffy . Mattress definitely needs replacing. No check in information was sent on the morning I had to ring to have it sent. Ironing board but no iron. Used tissue in the corner of the room.

Very good

The hotel is central to Beverley which makes getting around on foot very easy. Broken window locks.

No food option at all. No staff on reception. When you got used to no one around you began to find it a little strange. Knowing beforehand that it was being run on zero hour contracts with minimal staff would have prepared us for something different

Great location in central Beverley. Some road noise as it’s right next to a main road but not too intrusive at night Bed, room & ensuite itself was fine, nicely decorated in a traditional style, clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were basic but good. No phone signal & Wifi was broken so very difficult to operate phone or laptop etc. Built in wardrobe had rising damp and smelt strongly of damp so couldn’t use. No bar area and seating area was sparse and very soulless…. Sofas around edges of rooms that looked more oap or waiting room than a welcoming lobby seating area.

Size of room and location. Needs some TLC and some staff. Feels a little abandoned.

Friendly check-in. Convenient car park. Convenient central location. The Wi-Fi stopped working after the first evening. The main light in the room didn't work. I couldn't shut the window, although I didn't need to as it was so hot.

Love the location and the quirky old building. Our room still had dirty glasses, cups and bins full. Young lady on reception had it all to do.

The bed was comfortable, the room spacious, the bathroom spacious. The TV worked fine. I liked the location as I was singing nearby and it was close to shopping areas and eateries. The member of staff who helped obtain toilet rolls was polite and helpful. The room needed to be properly prepared for a guest and better serviced during my stay. For example, there were no toilet rolls in the bathroom when I arrived and I had to ask for some, and the toilet had been used and not cleaned. During my stay I found what looked like pink lipstick on a towel. Otherwise, the towels appeared clean. The supply of tea bags, milk and coffee was not replenished over the two days and the used cups not washed or replaced. This was really poor. There were no staff available most of the time to speak to, although a phone number was supplied. My key card stopped working during my stay and I used the number to call the hotel and someone explained how I could obtain another key card. The lack of staff was uncanny. I was also sent a pin number/code by email before arriving at the hotel but it appeared to be completely irrelevant - I never found out what it was for. Overall, although the hotel is well-located, I didn't find it good value for money. It's very annoying to have to make requests by phone when things go wrong.
