Edgbaston House

Great location, lovely room. Easy to access cafe next door. Good easy access. WiFi was poor and meant that we could not watch the football we had planned to watch. One of the window locks was broken, my husband fixed it.

Bathrooms were beautiful Not enough hangers

The hotel was in a very pretty neighborhood and the rooms are really nice almost posh. It is definitely a unique hotel. The carpet could have been cleaner and is long overdue for an exchange. And the wifi was very patchy. One night the wifi did not work at all.

The place has a nice style to it, bathrooms are nice and the room size is good too. Parking is quite easy to find and very secure, given it is behind a coded gate. Location is also good, a couple nice restaurants nearby and you feel right in the heart of a 'leafy' area. The hotel is unmanned, i never realised this when booking. It didn't cause me great issue, as i understood the instructions okay, but i kept hearing people trying to check into their rooms outside mine on the phone to the hotel for help. The lock box outside of rooms is tricky to navigate, and paperthin walls means you can hear every persons struggle with checking in. The walls being thin also creates a lot of noise, luckily i was top floor so had no one above me. The lack of staff means there is no real hotel atmosphere, and it makes it feel a little un safe considering.

The room was nice, it was clean and we loved the bath which is why we booked it. We asked for extra towels and we did get them the next morning. I did get a video of how nice the room looked, however it won’t let me add that on here. There was a bright green emergency light which kept us up most of the night, three lightbulbs in the room had gone however I did report this to be sorted once we had gone. The Aircon didn’t work again reported however that wasn’t fixed or looked out whilst we were out and it was too hot. And the water bottles they provided one was moldy on the lid.

Not much to be honest! The self check-in/out has the potential to be a bit hairy, and I didn't actually meet any staff, but some people prefer that so to each their own. The staff were very helpful though. Also they don't have lifts so if you've got heavy luggage ask for a ground floor room

The property was nicely decorated and clean. The bed was comfortable. The location was in a nice neighbourhood and presentable. Unfortunately, my hopes of a goods nights sleep was unsuccessful. The air con was not functioning in the night and we were too hot to sleep. I was in a state of dozing all night and not actually sleeping. I had to get up a few times trying to cool the room using my arm to try and reach an air con control pad wedged in a tight space on a wall between the wardrobe. The cooling function icon was not available. To top it off once we were trying to get some sleep we could hear every voice and footstep. The walls must be thin. In the morning we were greeted by voices of screaming kids outside and guessed that there may be a school near to the hotel. Personally my trip to Birmingham was spent in a zombie like state as any sleep opportunity was interrupted. Another thing is the fact that there is now presence of staff at the hotel and that could be a safety issue for any women travelling alone. See above

The bath tub is spectacular. The decor is just beautiful. Lovely relaxing place to stay. Easy to get to the Metro in Edgbaston Village Parking not so easy to find as the road is quite busy so not easy to slow down and look for where the entrance is

AC wasn’t the strongest. Lack of complimentary toiletries such as toothpaste. Smart TV wasn’t the easiest to use. Netflix was not on the tv.

Amazing hallway and bathroom, the underfloor heating is great There were a few marks on the wall and the sheet came up from the mattress which was a bit stained but otherwise good

The hallways were nice, the bath was great and shower wasn’t bad There was blood on the sheets and a mysterious brown mark, we spoke to the staff and she said there was nothing she could do and said the only thing I could do was leave a negative review online. She kept repeating “that’s what you’ve paid for” I don’t think anyone has ever paid for blood stains on their sheets? She said there was nothing she could do as it was a house keeping problem. She moved us to the room opposite and was sighing and huffing at us the entire time. The room seemed cleaner but this bed sheets was also covered in stains but it was nighttime when this was discovered. Rooms also need upgrading, the first room had misc stains and odd painted walls throughout.

Really nice stopover, lovely rooms and restaurants nearby, so everything you need for a business trip. All great so nothing to complain about really. Quiet obviously as it's not a hotel with shared areas but it's great!
