Good location. Beds very uncomfortable

Nothing but the location! I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this place. After checking into the room, I immediately noticed what appeared to be mold, which made me feel that the environment might not be safe or healthy to stay in. The condition of the room was completely different from what was advertised in the photos, both in appearance and in size. I raised these issues with the staff right away and explained that this was not what I had booked. Unfortunately, they refused to provide any refund or solution. Because I did not feel comfortable staying there, I had no choice but to leave and book another hotel, meaning I ended up paying for two places. I strongly advise others to be careful. The listing does not match reality, and customer service was unhelpful when a serious concern was raised. Stay away and protect your money.

Location is great and access to the beach and shops is good, pools are also nice. The family suite has good views and is spacious. Beach towels provided in room but no towels available poolside or beachside. We stayed in the family suite and there was no crockery, cutlery nor microwave, no cleaning items. The room wasn't furnished well, limited storage and no proper wardrobe, very little provided in terms of toiletries. When poolside or beachside, there are no available drinks or nibbles menu to upsell to patrons, you have to go to the bar to order drinks & food. The breakfast buffet wasn't great either, seems the hotel is running on a bear minimum spend.

Breakfast wasn’t bad, it had a good egg station and decent bread. The 4th floor rooms had a good view. The beach is nice. Despite booking for 3 people with breakfast included they insisted that we must pay extra for our child’s breakfast (at 275/day for a toddler who barely eats). Felt like an unfair money grab. The gym is not usable. Ancient dirty equipment. Our first room on the second floor was very moldy smelling, made my lungs hurt. Luckily they moved us - the 4th floor room was much nicer.

Was pleasantly surprised. We arrived early and they were nice enough to give us our room. Suite was massive with an amazing sunrise view. Hotel is average but for the price its decent. I would definitely recommend.

My wife and I were booked into the Matcha Samui Resort for two weeks. We were accommodated in spacious rooms in the adjacent lake view building. This building has its own facilities which include a pool/jacuzzi on the third level and very small gym on the second level. Facilities are good with suitable furniture provided around the pool area, with hand towels and water provided in the gym. Whether accommodated in the main building or lake building, the services and support provided by the staff could not be faulted. The staff were always professional and respectful and greeted all guest with a “wai”, irrespective of the time of the day. All of the staff who my wife and I interacted with over our two weeks are to be commended for making our stay in Matcha a mainly positive one but a big “shoutouts” go to Pinn on reception/restaurant, also to Kae, Preaw, Khaw and Gan, “support and wait staff” in the restaurant and pool/beach bar for their positivity and helpfulness throughout out stay in the resort. Housekeeping and room cleaning was a regular feature of Matcha’s attention to the cleanliness of its two building and its picturesque grounds. The lake building suffers from almost constant noise harassment from three venues at night. Of the three bars/restaurants producing the intrusive music, one has a band that plays loud music until 2:30am - 3:00am, 6 day per week. The noise levels impacted our ability to sleep and the quality of our sleep. Unfortunately, our room on the 4th floor of the lake view building suffers from very poor WiFi connectivity with regular WiFi dropouts. A better connection to the WiFi was achieved if and when we took our device down to the 3rd floor pool level or over to the main building; however this was not always possible especially when resting in ones room or at night and in that respect WiFi dropouts was a frustrating problem. The daily scramble for sun lounges in favourable positions around the main pool and on the beach was unacceptable. Guess would reserved sun loungers by placing their hotel provided beach towels on the loungers before disappearing, in some cases for hours. Sadly, this frustrating and unacceptable behaviour was seemly tolerated by the hotel as there was no signage or verbally given instructions preventing guess from engaging in this practice. Guess in the adjacent lake view building were at a disadvantage as most of the loungers were secured by guess in the main building.

Right on the beach, pool very close to the beach. Very stiff beds (like at many places in asia).

Superb

The location next to the beach was superb. The surrounding gardens were attractive but the pathways could do with smartening up. The staff around the breakfast room & beach bar were very helpful & pleasant. The room was on the small side & lacked storage for clothes. Other than that it was ok for the price. The bed was very firm & even adding a mattress topper didn't fully overcome this.

Good location. Easy to walk anywhere in chaweng and beach on doorstep. Big room which is good with young child.
