Central Hostel

The location The bathroom for the ladies was unfinished. They should have provided alternative table to put our toiletries when we were taking a bath.

The black guy at the reception said there is no two free spaces, so they placed my friend and me in different rooms on different floors. Fair, but does he think we are blind, each of our rooms had few free bads

Budget hostel in a great location with very friendly staff. Light and power outlet for each bed. There is an elevator to use. Decent café/bar downstairs. You can come and go whenever you want. In general, I did get what I expected. Somewhat cramped rooms, bunk beds with worn curtains. Renovations ongoing inside the building which meant that some bathrooms were unavailable. Some street noise might seep in.

The staff and facilities were great. With the exception of roommates enter the room at all hours of the night and letting the door slam, this was an excellent stay for the price.

Fantastic location. You can easily walk to anything you want to see.

There was some odd smell in the lobby but I think it has something to do with drainage system.

Super central, right in the heart of shopping district and walkable to all interesting sites. Friendly staff, large and comfortable room. Continental breakfast prepared for you to enjoy in the relaxing lounge. Entrance to the hotel/hostel was not easily recognizable in the little square.

All the toilets and half of the showers on my floor were out of order so we had to go up or downstairs just to use the toilet. There is no kitchen (but there is a microwave)

The bathroom was out of order and had to use bathroom on a different floor! Quite inconvenient. It also wasn't the cleanest place

This hostel's best feature is its location, right in the heart of Bordeaux. There were lots of restaurants, museums, and the riverfront all within walking distance. The staff was friendly and very helpful, and they all spoke English. It was quiet at night, which surprised me, given the location. The beds have curtains, shelves, power & USB charging outlets and very spacious lockers. There is storage for luggage. Though there is no kitchen for guests, the staff were gracious in letting me put my yogurt in their fridge behind the counter and getting me the utensils I needed to assemble a basic breakfast for myself (I have allergies and cannot eat the continental breakfast they offer.) The cafe, though limited in what it offers, is an attractive place to sit, and they don't care if you hang out there all day on your computer. They're in the midst of renovating, and the third floor showers and sinks near the toilets had no hooks or shelves--nowhere to put your things to keep them dry and clean. Someone moved a stool into the shower stall--a safe distance from the water--which helped, but then someone, staff, presumably, took it away. Outside the elevator, the tile was missing in the floor, and they had taped a large piece of cardboard there. There was spackle smeared on the tiles in the shower and toilet areas, the tile work wasn't quite finished, and the walls hadn't been painted. Many of the electronic door locks on our floor were missing outside panels, so the batteries were exposed and open to tampering. Because the doors use a fob, rather than a combination, you have to make sure you always have your fob with you when you go to the bathroom. It's a narrow passage between the beds. Anyone off the street could go upstairs or into the locker room, which is right next to the restaurant toilets; they could add the security of electronic access to guests only. Also, the restaurant doesn't really serve food, and there is no kitchen for guests.

I like having a private bunk. Cramped rooms, only two toilets per floor for both men and women, and the stairwell smells awful, like sewage. Also, no hot water for my second shower there - must have run out.

staff are very nice and helpful, the beds have curtains you need to bring your own locker or buy one from them, penalty of 5 euro if you lose your key is too much in my opinion.

Staff was phenomenal. Location great. Room was clean and comfortable. It was lovely having a café downstairs. The restaurant next-door in the plaza was excellent as well. I enjoyed my stay and if back in Bordeaux would stay here again. They have a luggage room for Early arrivals, but it is not secured. Also was unable to control the temperature in my room. Must request help from the staff to make it warmer or cooler.

Comfortable beds, wth large storage area underneath and curtains for privacy. Nice lounge area with good selection of breakfasts, drinks, etc. Easy check in and out. Very quiet, and nearly ideal location. Third floor was still being renovated. No soap in the bathroom the first day, and the showers on the floor were closed. On the second day, my automatic ‘key’ didn’t work, and I had to have them fix it. Temporary problems, I’m sure….

I was worried about the noise because there was a party on the ground floor when I arrived, but the atmosphere was really peaceful and there was more privacy than expected in the bedroom. When I spent a lot of time with the curtain of the bed down, the air was becoming charged and it was too hot. On the other hand, I was worried about forgetting the key to the bedroom everytime I went to the bathroom, but luckily it didn't happen.

incredible location, comfy enough for an 8-bed dorm, 24hr reception and easy-to-use laundry and bag storage services if you need a good comfy pillow, bring your own lol

Very comfortable beds right in the centre of Bordeaux Everything, besides the beds, felt a little dirty

Great location and staff was very helpful and friendly! Facilities were clean and adequate for my stay Because the door is staffed all night, people are free to enter all night long. Unfortunately, this means people who are drunk can create chaos in the room all night long.

The room they first booked me into was so tiny that I couldn't even close the door and put my bag down. They were unconcerned that I literally couldn't even walk in the door and sit down and there was nowhere to put my bag. After I told him this they told me I could either leave or get another room so I got another room. This one had a little more room. It was still so crowded. It was hard for anybody to move. Somebody stole all of my toiletries out of the shower which I had just bought. The bar downstairs was very loud. I paid for four nights and can only manage to stay for two before I had to leave. Some super creepy people staying there.
