My room had a stale smell, the carpets should be replaced. For the money I spent I expected a better room and bathroom. However, it was well appointed.

We only stayed one night at the Newbury Guest House, but it was lovely! Parking was easy in the dedicated parking area in the alley and much more reasonably priced than parking at other hotels in the area. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and all the amenities were perfect. The complimentary water dispenser and coffee machine were greatly appreciated (loved different options of water as well as my morning latte!). It is a perfect location for a quick stay in Boston - right on Newbury with all the cute shops and restaurants, right near the beautiful homes to walk by and tree lined streets as well as the river. We walked all over and never had to move our car. Highly recommend staying here while in Boston!

the location there was some renovation going out across the road and in the premise. it was not critical but it happened at a time when I had man appointments and so had to take the stairs.
-
Good location reasonably nice lobby. Very average room and not super clean for the price point.

Charm meets elegance is the description and we struggled to see either. Room was musty and uninspiring for the price. Loud banging all night long which I recorded and played to the front desk person, Neil. His response: “would you like to use the card on file.” The espresso machine was out of service. Asked that Michael the manager call me back. He never did. I emailed and no response. The only thing great is the location and they have nothing to do with it. Far better value for money in every direction.

Wonderful stay Great location and...

There was renovation work going on during our stay, so initially some areas of the hotel and the bathrooms were not quite what I expected based on the photos. I believe much of this was due to the renovations in progress. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and I really liked the marble shower. The staff were also very helpful and friendly throughout our stay, which made the experience more enjoyable. Overall, we had a positive stay. The location was definitely one of the biggest highlights, and I would consider staying again, especially once the renovations are completed.

Excellent stay! The location is perfect. Easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and many of Boston’s historic sites. The amenities were wonderful, especially the complimentary coffee bar and water station. Did someone mention the bed? The bed was amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

We are in love with the property! Best location and nicest staff. Very fun and authentic Boston experience.

Everything was clean, the service was great. The only thing I did not love was the bathroom was very small.

Rooms could use some modern updates, like an Apple TV option and more convenient outlets for charging.

Everything you read from the reviews is true. The guesthouse is super well located on Newbury street, arguably the loveliest street in Boston, in the heart of Back Bay, an extremely lovely brownstone neighborhood. The guesthouse is super cozy and comfy, and beautifully decorated. No breakfast is offered but you are basically in the middle of everything so great opportunity to explore around. Parking is convenient as well. Cannot be happier with the guesthouse Nothing

The Staff was extremely helpful, and the property was clean and convenient to the Hynes Convention Center. Provided parking was a life saver with plenty of shops and restaurants in the area.
