Nice little boutique hotel with great staff and good location for Fenway, live music and restaurant variety.

The Charlesmark is really cool. The hotel was clean and connected to all the cool areas, the staff was super helpful and nice. Be prepared for a smaller room than most chains, however. There is a fridge in each room, but there is only one microwave, and one ice machine, in the basement. There's also a super cool collection of DVDs and CDs of movies to watch in your room, an amenity I took advantage of and enjoyed! This is Boston, so parking is several blocks away. There is no bell service so you're hauling your own luggage, girl! I felt perfectly safe, however as the area is busy 'til late in the evening (ask for a room on the back if you can't sleep through street noise!) Good bar/restaurant right in the lobby and lots of nearby restaurants for variety. Go to the Thinking Cup on Newberry Street for the best Coffee In Boston!

Great location, very functional room with hooks and shelves. Free coffee and pastry is a nice touch

location! room was too small. The carpet in the room appears quite worn and could benefit from a more thorough cleaning. If possible, replacing the carpet would greatly improve the overall appearance

The hotel’s location is exceptional. Situated in the heart of Back Bay, it provided convenient access to our conference while also placing us within walking distance of some of Boston’s best restaurants, shopping, and attractions. What truly distinguished our stay, however, was the staff. Every interaction was met with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine desire to make our visit as comfortable as possible. In an industry where great service can sometimes feel scripted, the team at the Charlesmark delivered hospitality that felt authentic and personal. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained. After long days filled with conference sessions and meetings, it was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Business travel often means spending very little time in your hotel outside of sleeping and preparing for the next day’s events, but the Charlesmark managed to make our stay feel much more memorable than that. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit such a positive experience. I would gladly stay here again and would highly recommend the Charlesmark Hotel to anyone visiting Boston, whether for business or pleasure.

Great location and friendly staff!

Location asked to turn air conditioner off when I was booking the room. Got a response - no problem, we'll make a note. When I checked in and got to my room the conditioner was ON and it was really cold..I went back to the front desk and she said that the cleaning lady who was preparing the room didn't see a note. She opened the window and by the time I got to my room at around 9 p.m. it was not cold. One more thing - refrigerator was placed REALLY high. It is not OK. Guests should be able to use refrigerator. Only really tall people can place food into fridge. I asked a front desk why they did this when was checking out and said : "I am just employee. Ask management".

This was a very compact but very functional room with special attention given to added storage and lighting. Staff was very helpful in keeping luggage while we retrieved our car and giving map and directions. The location is great, in the Back Bay Area and so close to historical locations and shopping area and outdoor eateries. It was easy to get to Boston commons and downtown by cutting over to the Commonwealth, a shady walking promenade that continues for many blocks and ends at the Boston Gardens. The only thing I would suggest is not to rely too much on the advertised breakfast, which included one muffin and a weak cup of coffee.

The hotel’s greatest strength is its convenient location. The room included a DVD player, which felt somewhat outdated given the availability of modern streaming options. The DVDs were stored on the lower floor near the ice machine, which was not expected or clearly communicated. The closet was quite small and not very practical for regular use, and the refrigerator was positioned rather high, making it difficult to access comfortably without using a chair. The furniture looked old. In addition, the reception staff did not mention the complimentary morning coffee or indicate where it was served. It would also have been helpful to receive information about the free in-room Wi-Fi and the password at check-in, as is common in many hotels. Overall, while the location is a clear advantage, I felt that the experience did not fully match the price point ($935 for three nights).

Very good
-
Right across from the Boston Public Library and close to the Copley Square T stop. The staff was really friendly and helpful. They still use physical keys and I’m clumsy so I had to constantly check they were still there. The room was small but being I was in town for a couple big concerts, this place was enough, space wise.

This hotel was in the perfect location for visiting Boston. The room was great and spacious for being in a city, all the interactions with staff were friendly and helpful. I would love to say again.
-
Great location, great price for Boston, clean, free coffee (robust and good quality), rooms stocked with all amenities including water bottles in the room fridge, great shower pressure with hot water. Rooms a little small, but in no way a deal breaker.
-
I stayed at the room in the basement level. Unfortunately, public washroom, laundry room and mechanical room are along the way to the room, and smell wasn’t pleasant

I gave the Charlesmark Hotel five stars mainly because of its outstanding location. It is directly across from Copley Station, overlooks the Boston Marathon finish line, and is close to the Charles River. It is also an easy walk to Boston Common and downtown Boston. For sightseeing and getting around the city, the location was extremely convenient.

Front desk staff was great, especially Joey! He was so polite, helpful and always went above and beyond. The location is great, close to the subway and it's easy to get to most touristy places.
