The host was very friendly and very helpful

The staff were welcoming, friendly and very reassuring. The immediate location (desolate), the decor, leaking toilet ( I think) and in particular the noise from loud music and clientele in the bar downstairs 6-after 11pm at least. No breakfast included in the price on Sunday mornings, which I did not realize when I booked.

I was offered a sandwich roll when I checked in but I declined because I wanted to eat somewhere more lively. Ask if the pub is open. On the Friday night in May 2025 when I stayed, neither the Fox pub nor anything in the immediate area was opened. Imagine the back of a train station and that's the kind of location for this operation. Wish I had known how cut off from the interesting parts of Bristol the Fox is located. A rule of thumb (and sorry if it comes off as sexist): would you advise a woman you respected to stay at this place? The answer for me was a definite NO. The pub wasn't merely closed it appeared out of business for a lengthy period of time. The Fox is a 15 minute walk to anything -- meaning any shop, any street that's interesting, and to the train station itself. Perhaps at another time in history this was a great area but that wasn't my experience on a beautiful Friday evening. I had a great time in Bristol and wanted to like the Fox but it didn't seem like good value for money to me.

I am 80 years old and have had a few breakfasts in my time. I have never had a full English breakfast to compare with what I had at The Fox. The provenance of the eggs, the mushrooms and the sausages and the bacon were described, named farm by farm, by the host and I was so impressed that I decided on that breakfast instead of cereal. It was the best I've had in my life . I sent photographs to various family and friends to share its magnificence The clock on the wall ticked, but I just removed it and put it under a pillow while I slept as the neigbourhood is otherwise extremely quiet

Place was shut for the day when we arrived so couldn't get food/drinks here but we were able to walk to a corner shop about 15mins away to get ourselves some snacks. Bit noisy outside due to location in an industrial estate but this is obviously no fault of the owners. Keys took a bit of getting used to as we needed to leave at 2am so followed instructions by leaving the keys inside our room but then realized we needed the keys to get out so had to then go back upstairs, get the keys, unlock the door downstairs and one of us held it open while the other went back upstairs to put the keys in the room lol. Only a minor inconvenience though and we are certainly in the minority having to check out so early!

Great location, and really good value for money. I had nothing negative about the experience and my stay at the Fox. The room was large, comfortable and had all the amenities that I needed. I would definitely stay here again. Nothing comes to mind.

The location was good, it's close enough to the centre of Bristol that it wasn't particularly difficult to find. The beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and everything was clearly explained. It's worth noting that there's a number that you need to call if the cafe is closed to book into the hotel, but the staff answered quickly and came around to greet me.
