No a/c and only a small fan so the room was really hot but it was during a heat wave in the UK which doesn’t happen often. Beds have no privacy curtain and the hostel can be loud with the creaky floors and bar.

Good location Staff who don't do much besides sit behind reception always seem to have an attitude and selective on who they are friendly with ..the night staff even worse we always seem to be disturbing them playing on the phones and no questions or help is given ....and 2 week rule on who they like or not

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

The location The staff seem like they pick and choose their job roles like how they pick and choose who they have professionalism with

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Location Staff are lazy and always seem like they busy gossiping behind the reception

Location Wish staff treated us all fairly but I guess in life you can't always get kindness

Friendly staff, Good Showers, kitchen, all you needs. They do state there is music until 2am on a few nights a week so cant moan about that. Good value for money for a weekends stay for a gig in Bristol. Nothing, Toilets could do with a vent to get some fresh air but it was 30C, so they did get warm but the hostel cant control the weather.

This place had amazing kitchen, comfy beds, good staff, very good location close to the bus station. Showers were good and clean. I liked that the main gate is closed at night, it felt secure. Cute patio and the bar! There were only a few minor inconvenient things: no lockers in the room (at least there were none in mine), too many doors in the hallway and every one of them made noise (but any frequent traveller in hostels knows to have earplugs), and i thought the step down into the room right by the door was a bit dangerous. But honestly, it was very minor.

Noise from below in the bar/club is always a problem in this hostel. Don't think anything can be done about it...but to accept it. It's always hard to sleep here, especially on Friday and Saturdays ,but besides that, it's a good hostel.

Having walked eight to ten miles around Bristol going to and from Ashton Gate all I wanted was a comfy bed for the night in a fairly central location. Suffice to say the Full Moon Backpackers ticked all of the boxes from amazingly helpful staff to dormitory rooms which had everything you could wish for. Having spent the day in freezing temperatures it was a welcome relief to experience warmth and hospitality on such a scale. There are hotels I've stayed in which didn't rate as highly. Were I ever to stay in Bristol again I wouldn't hesitate to make a booking and would strongly encourage any prospective guests to afford the Full Moon Backpackers adequate consideration. You won't be disappointed. There is nothing not to like!

They charge a fee for damage that they should return at the end of your staying but I didn’t get mine. In New Years Eve they had a party in the ground floor and the music was too loud I couldn’t sleep until it ended at around 2AM

The room was spacious, and so were the beds, I was surprised they didn't have curtains. All the staff I talked to were also very kind and helpful The room was cold and very loud until at least 2 am (as they warn you in the description!)

Two loud English boys waking me up with the light on at about 4am and talking loudly.

I had a great four night stay. The staff were phenomenal! They were always helpful when needed. The hostel seemed to have it all for a budget traveler. Rooms and bathrooms were kept clean. I stayed in the four bed female dorm and the bed was comfortable. Also, it was nice to be able to control the heat in the room. The communal kitchen was well equipped and there was a lovely sitting area for eating and chilling. The location can't be beat. Easy walk to many different neighborhoods, so no need for any public transport during my stay. It's a party hostel, but I didn't hear any noise in my room (Room C). No complaints.

The location is amazing and the property feels welcoming. I only spent one night here so I might have had bad luck but first of all the entrance was pretty confusing. As I reached at night when the bar was open there was a long line of people trying to get in. I tried asking the bouncers/staff by the door where the hostel entrance was and they didn’t respond to me, so I had to wait in the long queue until my turn came and they told me. Check in was smooth and staff were lovely. However, I didn’t get a tour of the place like most other hostels do. So I had to go exploring in the middle of the night (which isn’t a huge issue until you hear what happened later on). As I was trying to put on the bedsheets I noticed that the sheets that were already on the beds were pretty dirty - I am not sure how often they wash these sheets but to me they looked moldy (pictures attached). There is zero privacy between the beds. The hostel is basically the second floor of the bar. I feel like it was mentioned in the description but I didn’t realize that I would actually be hearing the music as if I was in the bar - so up until 2pm when the bar closed I wasn’t able to sleep. I wasn’t offered any ear plugs or anything to help with the noise. As I was checking out, the security person was interrogating me as he saw me on the cameras going to the toilet then the kitchen but confused me with another person so thought I was going up the stairs to other rooms. I had to deny going up the stairs multiple times for him to believe me. As I was leaving he started questioning me again about whether I paid the damage deposit.

Clean sheets and bedding. Comfortable beds. Several options, like 3 bed dorm or larger, private rooms available. Warm in dorm as nights got colder. Large and comfortable common room. Large kitchen, well-equipped (two of everything). Multiple toilets and showers available, I never had to wait. Plenty of hot water in showers. Great location to see the sights in Bristol. Located on party street with plenty of pubs and restaurants. Nice “travel hostel” atmosphere, met some great people. Good price for a night considering other options in Bristol. Loud on weekends, club on bottom floor plays music until 2AM. Bring ear plugs. Shower can be finnicky, it's push-button style to prevent waster wastage, but you may have to keep holding it the whole time or water will shut off. I couldn't sleep until after the music shut off, even with ear plugs. Since the beer garden is on the ground floor, some of your dorm mates may be sleeping off a night out.
