A nice little surprise with not knowing anything about the hotel before checking in. Our family needed a place to stay for the night before going to Universal Studios the next day and chose Amarano for its proximity. The best review comes from my 13-year old daughter who is very particular at her young age of the hotels we stay in, She was very happy with all accommodations in this boutiqueish hotel. Very clean, larger than we expected room, upscale decor, friendly staff, and a stylish outdoor heated pool and hot tub area. Continental breakfast can be added that is much better than your expected continental breakfast. Would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area looking for a place. FYI $50/night parking but street parking is available nearby.

I always stay here and I am usually happy with everything. We had dirty sheets and pillows. Long hair and all kind of upset about it

Everything was great, lovely property but breakfast was a faff. For some reason you’re only allowed 2 adults for buffet breakfast even though we had 2 adults and 2 kids in our suite, and they wouldn’t swap my wife’s croissant (egg allergy) for toast? When you’re paying $800 for two nights that’s not much to ask.

The hotel was amazing. The decor and environment was warm, classy and cozy. And so was the staff. I can’t wait to visit again.

We were given the worst room upon checking in. I feel like this is the hotel policy from the onset and they save the better rooms for those that do not come through Hotels.com. As a former travel agent, this is fairly obvious to me. I didn't really care that much, as I was there for a particular affair. The first day, our bathroom sink backed up with some sort of black muck. As much I told them that we needed the room fast to get ready, the hotel dragged their feet about correcting the situation. they eventually changed our room, to a room we should have been given from the onset. I liked the quaint old hollywood style of the hotel, I would have preferred to be treated properly from the onset, then have to go through all of this. Add to this, that the "continental" breakfast was poor at best. The coffee was undrinkable and cold. The staff kept telling me the coffee is hot, but that the cream makes it cold. That also did not set well with me. the coffee was sooooo acidic - not drinkable at all. We could not eat the stale pastries, so we ordered a bagel - $10???? and that was stale too.

Everything is great except that they ran out of shampoo.

Staff went above and beyond to my our stay comfortable. We stayed for five nights and by the end it felt like home.

This hotel is more on the pricier side but it is absolutely worth it if you’re visiting LA. It was only a 10 minute Uber ride from Universal Studios/City, the room was very clean and the staff were excellent!

Enjoyed our stay!
-
Very friendly staff, great drinks, rooms were so chic, bathroom was clean and spacious. Close to Hollywood. Pool area was nice for a lounging day too. Only gripe is the bar closed kinda early and the continental breakfast is just yogurt, fruit, and a pastry…other than that, great experience and would stay again.

The room was big, bed comfy and pillows terrific.

The room and bathroom was clean which it's really important for us. The beds were super comfortable, we stayed at the deluxe double beds for a family of 4 and it has good space, the mini fridge was helpfull and we love the coffe machine we plenty of coffee. All the appliances were modern. The incluided breakfast was a plus and we love how close was for Universal studios 5 minutes away. The only think about the parking it's that they only has Vallet, you can find parking spot on the street but I didn't know how secure it was and I would love for them to have liquid body wash not only soap, that was our only sugestion, overall staff and everything was great!!

Excellent stay! Staff was so friendly and helpful with our stay with our 2 year old. Great location and great food/drink. Would stay again!

The location is excellent and convenient. The staff was generally helpful although some days they forgot to make up my room. No, i did NOT have the DND sign on the door, I made sure of it and even asked the front desk thrice. But it was a great stay nonetheless and would stay here again.
