Bathroom was nice, shower was amazing. Curtain didn't cover the entire window (room 305) , blue led light, from AC unit, lit up the whole room all night. Constant noise from flushing toilets, showers, and doors slamming. The pillows were awful.

Great central location, everything walking distance from the hotel. Easy for visiting other places in Normandy. Short drives.

Very good breakfast that set us up for cycling for the day. Location perfect, right by the marina and al fresco bar parade, for exploring Caen, its shopping and heritage sites. The underground car park was appreciated too. Members of staff were welcoming, professional and helpful. Air con effective and quiet. View onto courtyard. A clean, no-nonsense city hotel. Maybe our twin room was a little tight and lacking in surfaces and storage, but Ibis is a standardised no-frills brand and everything was well maintained worked fine. AI rock-themed pictures were naff but that's obviously a central corporate decision!

We got stuck in the underground carpark Had to leave at 530 to catch ferry . The bar code reader wasn't working. No one in either mercure or ibis reception. By pure chance my wife found a porter and he managed to get car park gates open
