The grounds are nice. Not as many animals as the reviews stated. Great breakfast and all staff was great! The beach is rocky.

Loved it all.

Very enjoyable lodge. Nice setting next to the Caribbean, with gardens that attract lots of birds. A sloth was low down in one of the trees while we were there. Comfortable beds, good breakfast, courteous staff. It's a couple kms out of town, so you want to have a vehicle. Cahuita is a quieter, more relaxed town than Puerto Viejo. One bedroom has AC, and after running for a while it cooled off the second bedroom, but would have been nice if the second one had a screened window that could have been opened.

Locks aren't great for security. I would recommend a door bolt lock.

The location was perfect. It was such a treat to sit by the pool in comfy longer chairs and read while watching the waves crash! The rooms were a bit mildewy and the furniture was old.

Great location right next to the ocean. Can listen to the waves all night. The pool was a great addition for us to relax and watch the wildlife. We saw monkeys all around our rooms. Ralph that checked us in was so kind. Made sure we had everything thing we needed and gave us personal recommendations for all the best places to eat and experience.

Ralph was very pleasant, the breakfast was yummy, our room was awesome (2 bedroom) so comfortable with a huge bathroom. Our room was kept so clean, greatly appreciated. Lovely pool but the weather wasn’t the greatest, so couldn’t go in. We saw a Sloth with her baby- that was amazing. The weather was horrible most days, but that isn’t the properties fault.

It was an idealic setting: lush tropical vegetation, ocean waves on our doorstep, a serene pool, and beaches forever a few steps away. I'm so happy I chose this place for my tropical getaway. Oh, and the breakfast was amazing!

Beautiful grounds !!! Nestled into the jungle we woke up to hear monkeys and birds and the waves every morning. We saw sloths, monkeys , birds and lizards. Breakfast was amazing we looked forward to it every day - fresh fruit ! Staff were very sweet very helpful it was a ten out of ten. We had a small issue with our jacuzzi tub drain not closing and they took care of it immediately .

It was one of my best stays in Costa Rica. So many animals around the hotel and in the garden. You can walt to the beach an Cahuita Nationalparc is also only 10 minutes by car. Perfect stay with a great breakfast buffet. There is also a good restaurant next to the hotel.

This place it's run by a new administration, I was there 2 years ago and you can tell they have invested in improving the rooms, but the refrigerator was not great and only one room had AC. The bets are made of wood. The facilities are old and could use a big upgrade in my opinion for the price to stay

The only thing that would make this place more perfect would be beach access from the property instead of a short hike away.
