CM Castell de Mar Hotel

The location is super nice, just across the beach and within the ''city's'' life, can do everything on a few mins walking. The staff was super nice, everyone was super friendly and attentive. The room was outdated, the hotel is half new half old and we were on the older part. Mattresses not that comfortable and furniture with usage marks. We got a cockroach in the room during our stay, we complaint about it and for them it was no big deal. After the complain, they cleaned the WC with so much cockroach poison that my little daughter had to take a nap in the balcony, it was impossible to stay in the room with that smell. They never apologized or tried to compensate us. A bottle, or a card or a manager saying a few words so we can rest assure the problem was solved, would've been appreciated. AC was making us cough in the room, we complained and they said it was a problem of the whole floor, we've stayed without AC for the day. Very strange to pay for drinks on a half-board stay, at breakfast you can drink water, all sort of juices and milk but at dinner if you want to have water you'll have to pay. I get it for alcoholic beverages, but I wasn't expecting paying for water on every meal. Food isn't great also, they try to have different options everyday but somehow feels more like a canteen. The beach isn't very clean, cigarette butts, pieces of plastic, baby wipes and those are also on the sea, which is a shame, it's a lovely beach.

- Amazing staff, they all are so nice and thoughtful, they all make your stay amazing and caring - Nice location in front of a beautiful beach, very nice pathway to walk or run - Nice hotel overall (rooms, restaurant, commune areas, gym, etc) - Snack bar with very competitive prices - Rooms should be updated (very noisy and smelly AC, unconfortable beds) in the « side sea view » building - Fancy buffet but sometimes quality could improved, it’s overall more appealing than good (too much salt, veggies too greassy). The salad bar and the fruits are excellent though.

The location was great. There was not a coffee maker in the room.

It was very clean; the food was great. The hotel is right on the beach. There is entertainment for both kids and parents every day. The swimming pool was wonderful. The spa was also great.

Amazing hotel. Fantastic staff and facilities. Food absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommended hotel. Childrens facilities were lacking out of season. Table tennis table was old and worn. Pool table didn't work. Small area also worn and old, some spiders which put my son off. Kids room lacking in activities.

Really liked the view from the room, the facilities such as the spa, saunas and pools. The breakfast was also fantastic. The staff were also really friendly. Everything was convenient, and even the other people staying in the hotel were really nice!

The staff was unbelievable! From the front desk to the bar/waitstaff to the cleaning staff. Everyone was extremely accommodating and always had a smile. Couldn't ask for a better staff to take care of us for our stay. Housekeeping paid close attention to details. I noted that everyday, excess sand was cleaned from the track of our sliding glass door, a detail that could easily have been overlooked. The front desk was so accomodating and made sure every request was taken care of for us. We were a large group with a lot of requests lol, and they delivered each and every time without fail. The bar downstairs by the pool had a very well thought out cocktail menu. Much better than the standard sweet beachy cocktails found elsewhere in Cala Millor. Who ever designed this menu payed very close attention to the ingredients. I.e. Most Pina Coladas are way too sweet for me, and I would never consider ordering one, but my mother in law is a fan and I tried a sip, it was actually very very good. (And presentation was amazing) I am a gin drinker and they had probably close to a dozen different spanish gin tonic combinations with both local and imported gins, all properly paired with fresh fruit and herbs. I was very impressed as you usually don't find that at a poolside bar at a family resort. (I only found one other place in all of cala millor who's gin menu came even close) They had some other great cocktails that were not overly sweet like I had expected. All in all, great bar and again the staff at the bar were an absolute pleasure. To me, the staff at this hotel, from the top down, is what makes Cm Castell de Mar a great place to stay in Cala Millor. The location, adjacent to the sea, makes traveling with kids so easy. We hopped back and forth from the pool to the sea with ease. Only recommendation would be to add some fans near the elevators as the AC didn't hit these areas. But it's Mallorca in August, so it's gunna be hot!

- the staff are really friendly and very helpful - the hotel is so close to the beach and surrounded by alot of shops, supermarkets etc.. - We enjoyed the breakfast ! its diverse and you can find everything you want - Gym has good equipment. - there is a special show each night, it was good and entertaining! - the buffet dinner on saturday was dissapointing, the theme was "american" but i think its not a great match for a saturday dinner. we expected better food quality and more options but ended up eating junk food. We have complained to the staff about the dinner, the "mallorcan" theme dinner was good in comparison. - The room style is a bit old fashioned and there is not much power outlets for all our devices.. I thin kthe rooms would need some renovation... - the room is not soundproof, noise from hallway can be heard.

The staff are all beyond reproach. From reception to the restaurant, cleaning staff to facilities management, all were great. Great location, right by the beach. While our room was done up every day, the floor was not once vacuumed in 8 days. Otherwise the hotel was very clean. The food was OK and pretty decent for the price but not amazing.
