Rooms: The rooms were excellent, with all the amenities expected of a five-star hotel. Swimming Pool: We really enjoyed the swimming pool—it was well-maintained and relaxing. Breakfast: The breakfast at The Lalit was outstanding. Mr. Amjad, Rajib, Chef Dabjeet, and Ayush were extremely courteous and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. Housekeeping / Administration: We accidentally left a few items in the room, and the housekeeping team promptly identified them and reached out to me. They are now arranging to courier the items back to me, which reflects great professionalism and care. Thanks to Alok, Aditya etc. Heritage Block Access: The property has a heritage block that requires an additional fee to visit. It would be a great gesture if guests with confirmed bookings were allowed complimentary access to this area. Check-in Experience: There was some confusion during check-in regarding our booking. I had reserved two rooms for three adults and one 15-year-old child. The booking.com confirmation clearly specified one room for two adults and the other for one adult and one child (15 years). However, the staff requested proof that a 15-year-old is considered a child as per the booking.com policy, which felt unnecessary and led to some arguments. Eventually, a senior staff member intervened and resolved the matter. A smoother and more informed handling of such situations would enhance the guest experience.

TV didnt work properly. Floor was not cleaned properly before our arrival. The minibar was empty. Overall not well prepared for the guests.

The breakfast was comprehensive although there are different sections. The location is quite good and taxi's know the hotel. The beds were comfortable. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. The hotel is not up to 5 Star Standards. We booked a deluxe room and had to move 4 times for different reasons ( bad smell, smell of smoke, toilet seats are old and chipped) The hotel said they were fully booked. The next night were were able to be moved to a 'Heritage' room which was much better, higher standards and a lot better kept and cleaned. The hotel did try to accomodate. The male managers at the hotel and the porters are excellent, however the female front desk staff are not friendly, surly and give a very poor impression. They do not want to help but want to know what the issues are just to be curious. I think there are better hotels in Kolkata and if you really want 5 star best to find another. The doormen were welcoming and helpful. Foyer needs updating.
