Residence Inn by Marriott San Jose Campbell

The bed was comfortable. But the property is in bad repair. I was really surprised. Chipped paint, tattered furniture. Dirty smudges on TVs and appliances. Dirty looking floors and carpet. The split level room could be great with tender loving care. But the outside was not inviting either. Dull chipped paint. When I drove up, I thought I was in the wrong place. I'm just thankful it was for only 1 night. In fact I changed my reason for being in town to an earlier time so that I could check out early.

Nice little property. Comfortable and quiet. Well maintained. I would stay there again.

Helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Well stocked kitchen. Nice landscaping. Nice selection of cardio machines and weights in the workout room. Does need a bit of paint on a few window frames. One of the two treadmills was broken in the gym.

Accommodation costs are not high. This was my first time using a sofa bed; I was prepared for it, but it was absolutely terrible. I would like a room with two proper beds. Despite arriving early, the breakfast spread wasn't ready—at what time am I supposed to go to get a meal?

staff was not friendly. I added an extra day and needed to reregister for hat day. they including to go back to desk sign papers and get a new key. room was dark with no light by the couch which was in the middle of the room

Staff were friendly and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. Pool facilities could have been better. Would have liked wine for sale without having to leave property.

We were three people staying in a king suite and the room was dilapidated. The bathroom had a crack in the ceiling above the bathtub that was leaking from the room above. Staff was not that helpful as they said there were no other rooms available nor were they willing to do more than 3,000 points to mollify us. In the morning, the crack in the ceiling opened up and came down into the bathroom tub and they finally agreed to move us to another room. In addition the sofa bed was incredibly dilapidated and uncomfortable for our daughter who is unable to sleep during the night because of it. The room was dark and dingy and really needed to be refreshed as to the whole property. You used to stay in Residence Inns all the time but I don't think will do that anymore as they seem not to care about their properties. We received nothing in compensation for first night which was an incredible disappointment.

We were traveling as 2 couples with a dog. The second story loft bedroom and second bathroom were good for our group. Good proximity to downtown San Jose attractions, shopping and restaurants. Breakfast was okay but not great. We were given differing information by different staff members regarding breakfast information (it was not as good as we were originally told), access for our dog (different from what we were originally told). Also, the kitchen in the unit had very limited plates and utensils. Also you had to walk all the way to the office to get ice which wasn’t great considering it was raining. But the biggest issue for us was that we had to pay $150 for our dog for a 1 night stay. They say it covers up to 5 days but I had that discussion when I initially called the property. But this was the only property near downtown that had a room to accommodate 2 couples and a dog. Based on all of the above I would likely not stay here again.

The staff was helpful and polite. The room was clean and had all the things we needed. We did not try their breakfast.

size of room and location needs more phone plug ins near beds. Difficult to plug in cpap and phones at same time.
