Hotel Maya Caribe Faranda

Staff was nice, location was great, our balcony had a good view of the ocean and although the hotel is a bit dated, you can tell they still do all they can to keep it clean and comfortable! We had to pay more money to be “upgraded” to the room we specifically selected to book. Shower also was clogged. Not so great for an “upgraded” room. No hammocks either how they advertised in the pictures! Strongly disliked the lying. Photos of rooms need to be updated cause we were told hammocks are no longer available for room balconies once we checked in and asked about them! Also, the name of the hotel is actually DOS PLAYAS FARANDA!! Not this name they have here! Super weird and confusing as hell! Be mindful of this if you stay here and have a driver!

the location was perfect - close to ferry, buses. The staff was generally friendly. It was difficult to find when we got there as the hotel name is actually Faranda dos playas and maya caribe had a different location lower on property, so taxi drop off was a bit difficult. An upgrade to the hotel is needed to make it a bit more comfortable.

Food was good at nighttime. The rooms need an upgrade, the toilet sometimes didn’t flush, the mattresses were ripped and old.

Lindo restaurant staff was excellent! Lots of food variety. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Curros were so good! Beach was beautiful! All staff were so helpful and pleasant. ? Not a new facility but comfortable.

The location It was dirty, run down, and the photos did not represent the actual rooms. The bedding was awful, it smelled like sewage, and we have bites that we are afraid are from bed bugs. We only stayed for one night.

The rooms were very very outdated and weren't client properly. When we closed our door it had a large opening where people waking in the hallway can see inside . This door opening also caused and issue because we can see the light beaming in at night and hear all the noise from people staying there. We also had very very noisy neighbors we called two complained several times but nothing was done regarding the situation .

The peacocks wandering around and the iguanas First of all the name of the hotel was dos playas, not maya Caribe. Weird . The access to the restaurant bars was absolutely bizarre. You had to go to the office and buy a ticket . But you couldn’t buy a ticket just to get a drink at the bar. You could buy a ticket for dinner that included a few (bad)drinks. I don’t even know what the bars were there for. It was like the management Was stuck on some kind of business model that may have worked in the 1960s. But it was pathetically out of date for today’s travelers.

It was good location Staff was rude and I got there at 8 pm they charged me 600 pesos for including pass I told the guy I was going to dinner outside the hotel and next day they charged me again 600 pesos I had breakfast only there food was disappointing

Great beach and wonderful ocean. Thousands of little fish swam around our feet every day. You have to pay for breakfast every day if you do not get it in a package deal. If you lose, your key, you will be charged a fine This happened to me.

Food was good, the location and the beach were great. Also the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The room is in serious need of repairs. The bedding was clean but very old and should be replaced. The wifi kept cutting out too.

Location is beautiful, so many options for food! Staff were so friendly and always helpful! we loved watching the peacocks strut around too! There could be more beach chairs

The location is perfect. Right on the beach with beautiful views. There is a nice pier that offers massages and help with booking activities. Booked a fishing trip and the marina was right across the street. Short uber ride to the party strip and the Ferry to Isla is the next beach over. Loved the huts and beach chairs. Food and drinks were great. Staff very friendly Our room was the worst room I have ever stayed in. The bathroom ceiling leaked all day and water constantly dripped down the walls creating puddles on the floor. Bathroom ceiling had several patch work spots and full of mold and mildew. The mini fridge was rusty and the one bed in the room had mildew on the boxspring

By the ocean, brand new room, clean and big! Close to Playa Tortuga for ferry. Great pools -3, and bars by the pool, beachfront. Parking Location is far from caffès and shops. All the time is strong wind, what makes feel colder

Very friendly and helpful staff. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained with easy access to pools, food, and the beach. The rooms are definitely older and in need of upgrades. Don't expect fancy. However, our room was very clean and comfortable, and the surroundings made up for the basic amenities in the room.

bed discomfort, pillow discomfort, bathroom aesthetics and water pressure & hot cold water are well below typical room conditions.

Did not get the room we asked for staff was horrible and management was never available to take care of the problem.
