Everything, staff was awesome! I liked absolutely everything!

The stay here was exceptional from a personalised check-in, to amazing dining options, attentive staff and daily activities. Food options and quality exceeded any all-inclusive standards. We want to give a special mention to Geraldine who was going above and beyond to make this an unforgettable stay. Also, many thanks to David in the preferred club lounge who provided an exceptional service.

I wish the beach didn’t have sargassum but it’s the the properties fault. Everything was 10/10

Everything! All was 10 stars. The spa is like no other. So nice, clean and amazing There was nothing to dislike. It was brilliantly done, decorated and well kept.
-
Not much to do outside of going to the pool and eating.
-
Pool and beach towels were rough. Asian restaurant took a little longer for service

First impression of the hotel is stunning and beautiful, it's open and well styled. The cookies and candy/sweet station in the lobby are a nice touch as you pass through daily. The hotel staff are lacking experience, it's a soft opening from November, but wait times at restaurants for a table and then for the food were excessive. You could easily spend 1-2 hours just waiting on a simple mixed green salad, no drinks refreshed (we had 1 drink topped up in our entire 5 night stay) or bread offered even with a bread plate and butter knife sitting on the table when seated. Portion sizes at dinner are very small "fine dining" portions, so if you skip lunch, be prepared to order multiple mains and be stared at like you're a glutton. Example dinner...Starter: 1 small empanada, main course: 1 taco with 2-3 shrimp inside (u26/30). We asked for a 2nd taco because we had not eaten all day due to a tour, and got looked at and questioned why we wanted another. We enjoyed the welcome drink, grapefruit juice and prosecco, upon arrival. We asked for another while at dinner the evening we arrived and were made to feel like a hinderance. The staff had no idea what the drink was, the bartender ended up calling over 5 separate staff and taking a trip to the lobby to speak with reception, then returned to us with a shot glass of grapefruit juice and told us "we got this from the front, that's all". We then had to divide the shot glass of juice between us, pouring it ourselves. For an "Unlimited Luxury" hotel, grapefruit juice was not the thing we expected to make us feel like we were asking too much, especially when it's abundantly displayed by the front doors. Two days during our stay, the hotel ran out of beach towels. We asked several staff members for a towel when all the boxes/loungers were empty, and were told "just look". I explained that we checked every single box around the pools and would appreciate if they can inquire if more are being put out.

On the beach. Very clean and friendly. Sunscreens and body boards ridiculously overpriced.

Upgrade to preferred and GO! One of the best resorts for older - ish couples.

Really didn't like the hotel zone location, we typically stay north or south of Cancun and now we know why. The location was too loud and had an overall trashier element. The beach also wasn't great and we never went in the water once. While the restaurants were great, Market Cafe was not. It was much smaller than other Secrets locations we've been to with a pretty sad selection. While staff was great, we stopped getting turndown service after our third night. We went without turndown two nights in a row before we said anything and we were assured we would get it that night. They ended up showing up at almost 10pm and by that time we were already settled in. This was not because of the hotel being busy either, they were at 40% capacity during our stay

Really struggling to find anything we liked about this hotel. We had a clean bed to sleep on and the breakfast was a buffet so we could find something to eat, even with dietary requirements. The Mexican restaurant in the evening also had decent options and the only nice staff member that we could find in the entire hotel. Customer service is truly tragic and this hotel feels like an airport hotel for a stopover before your flight rather than a destination hotel. Even then, it is clearly a massive timeshare trap for Americans. I do not know where to begin with our experience. The hotel was not booked out so we asked if we can check-in a bit earlier. Immediately the attitude was patronizing and unhelpful "as I TOLD you, check-in is in 3 hours" etc. Annoyed by our check-in interaction we bump into a man from VIP services and tell him about our experience to which he replies even more patronizingly, "You haven't checked-in and you're already complaining about something" and then "We don't really need to cater towards European standards, we have enough American guests that accept a lower level of service". That's how they train their VIP staff?! More like "grab American's money for a timeshare trap" staff. We found the contact for the general manager but before messaging him a room suddenly becomes free for check-in so we go to our room. The view from the window was quite dystopian, the hotel has no soul, small pools and an arbitrary VIP area which just amounts to towels in a darker shade of red. A trademark of the Secrets brand seems to be asking you 10x during your stay about your dietary requirements or whether you are celebrating anything and then doing nothing at all with the information. The women that check you into breakfast hang out as a group of 3-5 gossiping and giving looks rather than paying attention to dietary information. This hotel gave us the impression of everything wrong with the hotel service industry today. The staff are a cynical towards customers, the "attentive" questions are fake with no follow-up, requests are not catered for.

The location was nice and the staff are friendly The rooms weren’t cleaned for the 4 days I was there. Had to call down several times just to get towles. There was a ceiling leak right over the bathroom sink area and the floor was very dirty, enough to turn white socks brown on bottom. Small buffet selection and the food is Luke warm at best.

Very good

Delicious breakfast, comfortable room, friendly staff and nice sea view. Wifi didn’t worked all time, dirty elevators and walls, a lot of restaurants were closed, I think it’s because the hotel is closing.

Exceptional

Only the location is good at that facility. The room is awfully dirty and dated. Linens are stained. Food is sub/par. Long Wait and Food Service, expect a 2 hours wait at restaurants. The quality of drinks is very poor. Miscommunication between staff, so one bartender will tell you "only one drink in person" and the second will give you two and say "only two drinks per person". Worst experience ever will never recommend any of my friends or family members to go there.

Disappointing
-
Beach front and nice views. Cocktails, fruits on breakfast. Rooms require renovation, air conditioning is either not working (e.g in some restaurants or rooms) or is noisy. Service in the restaurant is very slow- e.g. it took 1.5 hour to bring a salat in Japan (Asia) restaurant. Plenty of employees, but it is a challenge to find a beach towel or someone who can provide it.

Nothing, the hotel was very racist and was not welcoming to non Hispanic speaking people. To continue.. a roach was founded in my friend room, the staff barely understood English or cared to help, the doorman in the front was very rude and told us we weren’t allowed on the beach after hours & that we couldn’t have guest, on top of trying to make us stay on the resort by telling the taxi drivers to leave when we wanted to go to the downtown clubs.

Food was yummy and consistent. Staff extremely attentive! Property very clean, spacious and inviting. not enough coconuts on the property lol
