Congress Hall
About Congress Hall
History buffs welcome: Congress Hall has overlooked the Atlantic Ocean, in the town of Cape May, New Jersey, for over 200 years. Once known as "The Summer White House," Congress Hall has been a welcome retreat to many throughout the centuries. Known as America's first seaside resort, the historical 19th century hotel offers 106 guestrooms, including newly renovated Junior Suites, each one individually named for the U.S. presidents or dignitaries who spent their summers there. Each Junior Suite is filled with pieces modeled after American heritage furniture with antiqued brass hardware, plush bedding and hand-dyed linen. Located in the center of New Jersey's Victorian District, there is never a dull moment with loads of activities within arm’s reach. Guests can relax in private cabana tents on the beach, or enjoy a relaxing and serene day at Sea Spa. Or, it’s a quick 5-minute stroll to West End Garage, a hall stocked with 50 little independent shops that make Cape May’s retail scene so unique.

This property sits right along the beach permitting views that won’t disappoint! Its central location makes it easy to take walks and explore local shops. Breakfast along the back patio was delicious and reasonably priced. Our room was surprisingly large! I can’t wait to go back!

Nice stay.

The staff is very nice and the poolside is comfortable with poolside food service. The alcoholic and non-alcoholic bar drinks were not the best at the hotel. There are several restaurants in the hotel and surrounding area.

Lovely stay!

Everything was lovely! I asked for a room w/a view for my Mother’s 85th B-Day, but they First assigned her to a room w/a view of an inner HVAC Shaft. However, realizing the error, they moved her to a Beautiful Ocean Front Room, which was greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, the other room for my Brother’s family, who had never been there, also was in the HVAC shaft. But, they enjoyed every thing else very much.
