My boyfriend and I had the most amazing time at the Dormer Hiuse. The host /caretaker Nancy and her staff are just so welcoming , comforting and always ready to help . The room was beautifully kept and such history . The afternoon tea and homemade cookies was a delight and something to look forward to each day , while sitting rocking chairs and enjoying the calmness and beautiful weather or Cape May

Had a wonderful time. Staff was very responsive and the facility was great and represented cozy Cape May. The daily breakfast was enjoyable as well. Close to beach and all the restaurants and shops. Plan to return.

Great location! The staff was great! My only “complaint “ was the lack of privacy due to the window ac unit. It was very hot so the unit needed to be running the entire time. There are no shades or blinds only drapes so they needed to stay open to not cover the unit. So no privacy and the room was bright as day around 5:00 AM. Other than that we absolutely loved it.

Super friendly staff, amazing breakfast and afternoon tea. It was so peaceful and homey. We loved it here!

Excellent conditions. Peace and quiet. Wonderful breakfasts. Thanks to Nancy and her helpers! We will be back!

Location was perfect, walking distance to the beach and to the Washington Street mall. The breakfasts were delicious, and the afternoon teas were perfect. I especially enjoyed spending time on the front porch.

Parking excellent Breakfast excellent

There was no customer service. I was greeted when I got there but only because I looked lost and someone happened to be there. No one asked how my stay was going or if I needed anything. You're basically on your own aside from breakfast being served.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the owner Nancy. She knew my name and showed me right to my room. My room had a Jacuzzi in it, which I absolutely loved !! The room was spacious and bright . Breakfast was homemade, served every morning and it was absolutely delicious.!! I enjoy trying different flavor teas as well as sampling. Nancy’s homemade cookies every afternoon. The staff was very friendly. Thank you for an amazing stay Nancy.⛱️💞

We loved staying at the dormer house. Our room was clean, comfortable and homey. The house itself is charming. Nancy and the staff were attentive, friendly and so helpful, even after hours. The amenities are quite nice and include an outdoor shower where you can also find towels and chairs to bring to the beach. The location is super convenient. Would recommend.

We would absolutely stay here again. The price was right, you're a 5 minute walk from the beach, the breakfast is delicious, the neighborhood is charming, and the room was clean. We really can't ask for more than that.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Dormer House. A home away from home, experiencing a Victorian charm and history. Breakfast was absolutely delicious every morning! Nancy and the staff were conscientious in their efforts to make guests comfortable.

It's 3 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from the little Cape May walking mall with shops and lots of eats. Others mention parking and I will mention it too. There is NO PARKING ANYWHERE in Cape May during the season...NONE...not on any day, not at any night, not on any street. So having this parking lot is worth so much for the quality of your trip. The folks who run this house are bakers...you'll have tea time cookies and breakfast coffee cake, pancakes, lovely French toast...a daily change. And the breakfast coffee is delicious...or, if you are a tea person, there are many choices. Such a delight!

We stayed in the Smith Cottage. What a pleasant accommodation! It had everything we needed- complete kitchen, cozy, well lit living room, comfortable bedroom and great shower. The locale’s excellent Breakfast was tasty and served on the quaint veranda. Nancy was so helpful and personable. We will be back.

The porch was nice, our bed was comfortable and the AC worked but for the price I paid for two nights I could not believe that the TV was a blurry analog signal and set to the wrong size picture with limited channels. How cheap is it for them to not even have high def signals for their TV. It was not on a swivel to watch it from the bed. The sofa was so hard I thought I was in the Flintstones sitting on a rock sofa. Horrible, uncomfortable and it hurt our backs. The furnishings and lighting were dark, drab and uninviting. No color at all. The parking lot was made up of rocks which are terrible for your tires or to walk on with NO LIGHTING at all at night on the walkway up to the hotel from the lot. The steps were uneven as well. Last this is the 250th birthday for America. Every house nearby had flags or bunting. This house had NOTHING as if they hated America. DO NOT STAY HERE. IT IS A MESS!
