Motel 6 Capitol Heights, MD - Washington

This is a dirty place. The tub and toilet hadn't been cleaned much less disinfected. I made an online reservation but it still took 20+ minutes to register. The clerk barely spoke English and couldn't even tell me and another person how to get to the elevator in the middle of the building outdoors. We drove around and walked around until we found it. The door to the unit wasn't very secure. Cracks were so wide you could look inside easily. I put my jacket over the chair and sat it against the door for safety. I will NEVER stay there again!

It seems that not all rooms have refrigerators or freezers. The staff didn’t care and wanted you to come to the main office and purchase overpriced drinks and whatever else you may want.

This was the cheapest, closest option for the event I was attending in D.C. There isn’t anything special going on about this hotel, you get what you pay for.

It wasn’t any BREAKFAST! The location was great My room had BED BUGS AND NOW I HAVE A BED BUG PROBLEM IN MY HOUSE?? and they changed my room to A DOWNGRADED ROOM NOT WHAT I PAID FOR!!! It was the most HORRIBLE TRIP EVER and I will NEVER TRUST ANOTHER MOTEL 6!!!

First, I was not aware at the time of booking that there would be an additional $50 holding fee/deposit required at check-in. There was no clear explanation provided regarding the purpose of the charge only that it should be refunded within 4 business days, so I recommend other travelers confirm this in advance to avoid surprises. The room itself also had a few maintenance issues. The toilet seat was not properly secured and continuously shifted during use, which was inconvenient. Additionally, there was no hot water available the night we arrived. Fortunately, hot water was available the following morning. The most concerning part of the stay occurred at checkout. I admittedly did not confirm the checkout time or request a late checkout, so I understand that we were slightly past the required time. However, at approximately 11:03 AM, a male staff member began pounding heavily on the door. While we were asking who it was, he proceeded to open the door and informed us that checkout was at 11:00 AM and that we needed to leave by 11:30 AM. Regardless of checkout policy, entering a guest room without proper permission or giving occupants adequate opportunity to respond is inappropriate and highly unprofessional. Staff had no way of knowing whether guests were properly dressed or otherwise prepared for someone to enter. The manner in which this situation was handled felt intrusive and disrespectful.

We stayed here for a Washington commanders game location was great. Front desk was very accommodating and had a room ready for our requested early check in. Highly recommend
