Best Western Carlsbad by the Sea

Perfect stay and great location for our needs and just being close to the beach. Will definitely be staying here again if I come back.

Room was clean. We had no trash can in the kitchen for 5 days. Towels were replaced every day, even when not required. Pool was fantastic. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was not great. No tea for 5 days. Yogurt machine was always broken. We usually stay at best western yacht harbor but stayed here for a change. I would stay again though. They have suites and it's a great and safe location.

Hi Nick, As a 15+year BW Patron and Rewards member, I have never had an issue where a BW employee made me feel so uncomfortable and un-valued as I felt today. This was a long exchange that was so concerning it goes far beyond a light apology for the way I treated by the person who I spoke with today (he stated a last name of Garcia). Please see the attached screen shot. I did not receive a reply. When I called again/stopped in, (Reception Desk Attendant) confirmed that I did not have a booking and then was apologetic when he understood that another BW employee treated me poorly earlier today. All I requested was a confirmation that my reservation for tonight was cancelled or not. Garcia made it so that I felt I needed to go to call and come to the front desk to confirm. He would not address the issue that I had spoken the hotels.com earlier and they instructed me to confirm directly with BW-CBTS. Please note (Reception Desk Attendant) was helpful both yesterday and tonight.

Old tired, shabby property likely just purchased by bwh and they are trying to upgrade. Old dark brown carpets in rooms. Breakfast was ok except for broken yogurt machine. Best Western used to be reliable, now its baddd Western

Well, first, let me begin by saying Sergio at the front desk was incredible and couldn’t have been nicer. As for my room, it was nothing like what we saw online. This was the filthiest hotel I’ve ever been to in my life. We literally were there two hours and left. The rugs were filthy, no rubber stripping on the front door so bugs could get right through and there were cobwebs behind the door and outside under the air conditioner and on the patio furniture near the pool. We had booked for two nights and when you don’t show up for your reservation they charge you for the first night by the second night automatically get canceled and refunded. They’re now refusing to give us the one night back. Don’t ever stay here.

It was a basic hotel. But perfect for us with four kids. Had a great big room with an area for them to play.

It was a nice place to stay. We will be back again. Only thing I didn’t know was they want a $150.00 deposit when you check in. It was put right back on my card after check out.

Exceptional

This was a very nice hotel and very affordable for the area. Great free breakfast wonderful outside hot tub and pool. Very clean and current room. Staff were very pleasant. Perfect stay.

Decent for what it is. The AC is nice and cold but when it goes off it gets warm fast until it kicks back on. So just be cautious when it’s on auto. It’s nice they have windows that open too.

Superb

The room was perfect for our family of 7, loved that it had bunk beds and tons of space, so we didn't feel like we were on top of each other, breakfast was amazing with tons of choices, the drink station was really nice, the service and staff were outstanding, the heated pool and hot tub were great and the poolside furniture was impressive and comfortable There were some fruit flies and ants in the room our whole stay even though we kept killing them, the walls had some questionable stains/smudges on them, the dishwasher was so smelly-it was nice the room had dishes and a kitchen but there was no way we were going to use that dishwasher, there was also some weird drainage/sludge in the parking lot that we had to step over

Overall, we had a wonderful time The property was beautiful. I have no complaints.
