Ivana B&B

The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The host was very friendly. The location is downtown, a conveniently easy walk from the cathedral area and from the train station (which is also terminal for many buses). Noise in the street outside could penetrate easily, but it was fairly quiet late at night so this wasn't an issue (even on a weekend). Only minor inconvenience is that there are three different doors to unlock in order to reach the B&B (street entrance, building entrance, and apartment door) and it was difficult to communicate in English on the day of arrival. To avoid confusion, it might be easier to send a prepared message with full instructions before arrival or to meet guests at the street entrance upon arrival.

Amazing location in Catania, walking distance to a number of great restaurants and loads of things to see. The owner was fantastic and provided a excellent breakfast. We really loved it!

Ivana is the perfect host, she did her best and more, she was waiting for us during the night, also she made the parking to wait for us, because we did late. Every morning she prepared us a very abundant breakfast. We love you, Ivana :) The location of the bnb is very good too, in the historical center, but easy to go to the main roads too. we were there only for 3 days :(

Ivanna was an excellent host, and the location was very good. Breakfast was generous and Ivanna accomodated all our needs. The exterior condition of the building was dirty and neglected. And the common passegeways of the building were humid.

Great location, close to the airport bus and a short walk to the Duomo. Friendly welcome in a tranquil home. Ivana gave us suggestions for exploring the city, and even arranged an early check out, a packed breakfast and a taxi for our early flight.

The breakfast was Amazing - Ivana made us a beautiful full breakfast with lots of fruit, cereal, omelette and cakes. She is a wonderful Hostess!!

Exceptional

Great location, good breakfast, charming interior, 12 min from airport. Many of the B&Bs have a self service on arrival. As did this one. It works well, good instructions via WhatsApp.

The room was spacious and the mattress was great. The host was responsive and attentive. View of Bernini Theater from the boring living room was a beautiful surprise! Before our arrival, the host surprised us with a message saying that under national regulation, we needed to send ID dox to her via email or WhatsApp and do self-checkin. But our request to do this in person was promptly accepted! Upon arrival, we were shocked to notice at least 4 small black worms wriggling in the toilet bowl water! The host showed up immediately with a bottle of bleach and quickly put an end to the bug scare. She kindly offered to change us to a much larger unit, though not quite as cheerfully decorated or sufficiently lit as the original one. Bathroom had no window. The shower head was stained with green limescale buildup. And the shower curtain was so poorly fitted at the center top over the bathtub that every time one took a shower, water literally flooded the bathroom and the slippery floor tiles were dangerous to walk on. There was a mop in the bathroom but towels were more useful. Some older reviews reported the same issue. Obviously it was not addressed. Do be careful if you use the same bathroom. The slabs of the double door didn’t close tightly and you could see thru the gaps. Luckily, filling soft tissue paper into the gaps fixed the problem. Of course we had to apply the makeshift “sealant” multiple times during our stay there. Breakfast was healthy and tasty, but in meager ration size, good for vegetarians on diet. We each got four tiny triangular toasts, a small cup of carefully diced fruits, a glass of orange juice, and a thin omelette with pieces of tomatoes, radishes, green olives, pickled peppers on side.

Ivana is such a warm-hearted and kind host. She helped with the driver, gave great advice, and was always so kind. The location is perfect, with everything close by and within walking distance. The place is cozy, spacious, and well-equipped.

Great location, comfortable room, close to everything but quiet at night. Host was fantastic and helpful! I had an issue with the key to get into the front door when she wasn’t there - she is going to be installing a code to get in so this will be fixed shortly

We really liked the attention of the owner Ivana, the room was very spacious and clean, we enjoyed the bathtub, the breakfast was homemade and delicious, we felt very comfortable. I recommend it.

Great location, breakfast and accommodation and welcome. Good little touches like earplugs in the room. Ivana cares and it shows. Minor, the shower/bathroom is dated.

Lovely breakfast under the lemon trees. Nothing really - the lights were a bit temperamental in the main room; only a small ting.

Ivana is a wonderful host. She is exceptionally kind and helpful. We enjoyed the fact that we could walk to all the sights and a bus to the airport is right around the corner. The breakfast was nice and the room was very comfortable and spacious. The two negatives of this stay were the smells and noise coming from the restaurant below and the bathtub/shower is very slippery and difficult to use. Some new non-slip strips for the tub would solve this problem.
