Once I checked in, the room air conditioner was blowing extremely cold air. I turned the temperature up a little. The air conditioner unit started blowing water mist, and lots of frost started falling onto the carpet. The mist and frost ended up getting on my business suits because the closet area is just below the AC unit and is open to the room. I called the front desk. The lady, the same lady who couldn’t check in more than one group at a time, stated there were no maintenance personnel on duty, but she would see what she could do. A few minutes later, two people showed up at my room. One said it was normal for an AC unit to run like that. The lady offered to move me to a different room. I agreed. I repacked everything, only to have them come back and tell me it would be two hours before the new room was available. I declined and stayed in the room. When I went to lie down on the bed, I noticed the linen was stained. Small spots, but I am pretty sure they were bloodstains. I ended up sleeping in the chair. The room TV would not work. It had no channel access. The next day, the manager stopped by and said she would take care of the room charges. I checked out a day early. The room charges are still on my credit card.

Room was clean & very comfortable. I have no complaints.

Clean and tidy! Small hotel but impressive

Guy finally showed up 4:20p Room was very clean. A very dead town unless you love casinos. No real food or drink specials as the dining room was shut down. Only complaint was a 6:37 am Fire Alarm, we smelled no smoke, no gathering of people in the hall, no hotel personnel until almost 7 am. He gave no reason for the alarm or excuse for not helping guests out of the hotel. We left as soon as possible. Again no one at the hotel counter to leave our key. Their primary biz is the casino and they only have 26 rooms as a hotel, so perhaps they do the best they can.

Exceptional

This was a fun place to stay. We didn't make much use of the casino itself, but the staff was friendly and the room was very comfortable. The breakfast options at the little cafe were pretty good, too, although they do use a certain oil in their food that tastes a bit off (both my sister and I noticed it). Really friendly gentleman at the cafe. Overall a great stay!

Don’t let anyone under 21 on the gaming floor. They are very serious about this issue.

Clean room and quiet on a weekday night. Nothing fancy but perfect for a couple night getaway in a unique old town.

Nice room and friendly staff.

The building and casino need to be updated. It didn't seem to be maintained very well. I was skeptical about the room, but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was huge. It had vaulted ceilings, the a/c worked great and the bathroom was so nice. The bed needed to be replaced, it was very loud and uneven. I would stay again.

Quirky hotel layout - in a good way. Century old historic bldg with only 24 rooms. Room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated with artwork and dark woods. Very comfortable bed with quality sheets. Bathroom was adequate but very clean. Quality hand soap, shampoo, etc in dispenser. New looking dark carpet. Very little in the way of food in the evening, a big drawback. No live tables or cocktail service, but fairly liberal drink comps at the bar. Overall, the casino was not my favorite, although all staff were nice and helpful. I would return for the delightfully quirky hotel, but not necessarily the casino.

The stay was as usual nice and most of the staff are friendly. The restaurant area is closed and the food is good, not great. It would be a better stay if we won more in the casino, it’s a 50/50 winning there. Overall, a great time roaming around the area.

Passable

Great stay in historic Central City, clean and spacious rooms for a very reasonable price. Staff were helpful and flexible check-in and covered parking was appreciated. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The ice maker was not working on my floor but the gentleman at the cafe happily filled the ice bucket. We waited for order breakfast but left after no one was available. We waited a few minutes.

Free parking. Stayed at hotel as we were attending a play at the Central City Opera house. Did not go to casino nor eat at their cafe (menu not of interest to our tastes). Housekeeping mostly good but neglected a few areas (under bedside tables)

Easy parking. Large clean room. Great rate. Didn’t realize it was above casino and age 21 only. Not an option for families with kids.
