    Staff was beyond phenomenal!

Hospitality was really good! Staff was helpful. There were many OLD hotel components: worn carpet in the hallways, awful wallpaper that was peeling, dingy walls. Omelets were skimpy, needed larger portion sizes (cheese, mushrooms, etc). It would have been nice to have someone sweep the outside area near the entrance.

They do not serve lunch or dinner. I heard a leaf blower at 5 am this morning.

All aspects were amazing. The staff is spectacular, especially the breakfast staff!

Wow, what a cool building. Apparently it was an armory or something. Staff was excellent. Will stay here again next year!!! BONUS, COCKTAIL RECEPTION!!! Parking was excessively expensive.. 3 free drinks would be better than 2

The staff and location was great The furnishing looked like they hadn’t been updates since the 80’s. The carpet in the stairwells was filthy and worn out. The couch and chair in the room was something you would see on the side of the road. Well worn out. Bathroom plumbing barely worked. Water in shower was only one temp. Curtains in room were broken and were very hard to close.

Staff and parking. The rooms were dated but clean.

Coffee was horrible Breakfast was good along with nightly cocktail hour

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Bathrooms are small, have no towel bars. Carpet was stained. Only one night table. Great breakfast and amazingly nice service.

Good location. Liked breakfast and happy hour

I was told that I could pay $25 per hour after. checkout time, the night before my stay ended. Apparently, that wasn't the case. I had to adjust my plans on the day of departure, rather quickly, come back to the room and pack. The staff couldn't tell me why I would be quoted that amount. I would have paid for another night, had I not been quoted an hourly.

While the property was well located, the staff needs a reset. While there, the parking staff was extremely problematic. The worst was ripped my handicap hang tag and threw it on the dash. No apology and no acknowledgement. I alerted the staff three times and asked for the manager to call brace me during my stay. The manager never reached out to the staff is a clear reflection of the management. We have stayed there for several years in a row. This was by far our worst experience.

    Exceptional

Staff was winderfull. A little run down

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

No onsite restaurant or restaurant close close by. I should have read the description better. The elevators needed some maintenance and were slow.

Location is great. Staff was excellent, friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was very good cocktail hour was a nice surprise. Rooms were a little run down. It is an old building but the rooms could use new paint, new carpets. There is much potential for this place.

    Lovely building Run down

First the things we loved about the property. Our main reason for our stay was to move in our daughter to the college of Charleston and the location for this hotel was great! The staff was super friendly especially the valet workers. My husband has an obnoxiously large truck that they lovingly parked in a front spot because it wouldn’t fit in the parking garage. The lobby and center courtyard had so much southern charm! What we didn’t love about this is our room. Everything was super dated peeling wallpaper stained walls everything was well used. We also did not have a window at all which was a bit claustrophobic feeling. There were rooms with windows and updated furniture that we saw while they were cleaning. Make sure to request a room with a window!

The property from the outside and lobby is beautiful. The rooms are awful. They are outdated and look like a Motel 6. For the high cost of the rooms, go to another hotel.

Why 4 stars? What it has is historic charm, great staff, over-the-top breakfast and a great location.
