The Francis Marion Hotel

Lovely

Very good location to downtown Charleston. Parking is the only thing I did not like, but I am sure it is comparable to the other hotels in a city. Valet for $40 a day or self parking was hourly.

The place was great, staff was friendly and location was great, everything was within walking distance. Only thing was parking, I had to park in a garage a mile away with only 8 parking spaces available but luckily there was one space available because I had a lifted truck. Next time I’ll take my car.

Absolutely beautiful and breathtaking hotel, full of history and southern charm!! Extremely clean and well mannered! Room 712 was super spacious and very clean!! The veiw straight across the bed was perfect! When I come back to Charleston, I will definitely be staying here again but I also hope we get a room on the 10th floor since it's haunted!! :)

Great location! You can tell this is an old hotel, but it has been updated nicely and everything was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Loved the historical feel to the hotel. I have stayed there now twice and loved it. Staff are always there to help you in any capacity.

The lobby is epically beautiful and the amenities are easy to locate. Our room was spacious, albeit the fixtures are a tad outdated. The location is a short walk from everywhere we wanted to go. My husband and I would stay here again and recommend it for anyone traveling to the area.

Staff was great and we really enjoyed our room! Location was perfect for the travelling we wanted to do.

Room I was in was not what I was expecting, very very old. Was told I could get a room move early morning, was told no that following morning. Typical for hotels to only show upgraded rooms online. I have worked in the hotel industry for 15 years, I usually stay at Marriott hotels because of my discount when I travel to Charleston - which is often. I wanted something different. I’ll stick with Marriott.

The perfect place to stay while visiting Charleston. Staff was friendly and informative. The Swamp Fox Restaurant and Bar was great and the waiter Eric really made eating special. We will definitely stay there again.
