Great central location to shopping & restaurants. Clean, updated rooms with an amazing pool and sitting areas. Highly recommend.
-
Staff was great - the valet parking was very slow to respond, however.

Great location. Very helpful staff, well kept and beautiful

Amazing place, great location and friendly hospitality
-
The property is very pretty and the staff was friendly and very helpful. The pool would be much more useable if they added a ledge along the sides for people to be able sit in 7’ depth. There were day pass users in the pool which made it very crowded and because of the depth, that area was unusable it would be great if there was a way to add seating around the outside of the pool too. There was never enough lounge chairs around the pool. Also because it’s an older building, it isn’t as soundproof as other hotels.

Staff was excellent, especially at the restaurant iron rose. We loved Abigail our server and made sure we ate every morning with her. Definitely will be returning.

The property is beautiful. We’ve been going to The Mills House for years. We brought our small dog & no pick up trash containers for dog waste outside in the area referred for dogs to go. Other than that, it’s fabulous!!! The staff is wonderful, breakfast amazing & the BEST location! Go to dinner at 82 Queen. Just a few steps away, top notch food and incredible atmosphere, very southern! I’m from SC so us southerners love Charleston & The Mills House!!

Amazing

The property was clean overall, but the showers were absolutely horrible. There was barely any water pressure, which made the experience very frustrating. For the amount they charge per night, I would expect basic amenities like a properly functioning shower to be up to standard. Honestly, it felt like staying at a Motel 6. Very disappointing and definitely not worth the price!!!

They had a lot of activities/things going on. I wish they had a little print out in the room that explained what time some of the things were. It was verbally said to us but we had to ask again for the information because we forgot by the time we got in to our room and settled.

The staff was friendly and everything was super clean. The bar downstairs was nice and they had a cute fountain area that was a great spot to hangout. They had a lot of activities/things going on. I wish they had a little print out in the room that explained what time some of the things were. It was verbally said to us but we had to ask again for the information because we forgot by the time we got in to our room and settled.

From beginning to the end, everyone was extremely kind, helpful and cheerful.

Loved the vibes and the location, the bar was lovely and the pool too and Poogan`s Porch was just behind the hotel for a lovely dinner the house keeping was very bad. Had to chase them up and when we did they only half made the beds so had to chase them again and then it was finally done up nicely but we had to wait outside the room as we were ready to return to the room at this point - but this was really the only drawback and we did get a small compensation to make us feel a bit better about this issue

Exceptional

Let's start with the excellence. The staff, every single one of them - from Sam greeting us each day with a huge smile, to the cleaning staff to the cafe and pool team - all superb! The property itself is beautiful, quaint, clean and full of charm. The cafe, restaurant and pool bar menus are wonderful. It is located within walking distance of everything you would want to see or do in Charleston. BUT - after a long hot day walking the city streets, you need a shower. And a girl with long hair needs to wash it when staying for more than 1 night. The shower pressure was the worst I have experienced anywhere. We did not check reviews for this hotel prior to booking as it was recommended by a friend, however I wish we had as this seems to be mentioned quite a bit in the last few months by previous guests. When we mentioned it the first night to the front desk they sent someone the next morning, sent us a text that it was fixed, it was not. In speaking with other guests, it was not an isolated room incident. Again, this hotel and everyone who works there is amazing in every single way - but if you value showering while on vacay, this might not be the property for you.

Nice
-
Great location and nice comfortable rooms. Perfect for our short two-night stay in Charleston.

Beautiful hotel with multiple options onsite. Enjoyed hanging out by the pool listening to the DJ! Was also walking distance to many shops & restaurants. Everything was great but the water pressure was a little weak. Sometimes during a shower the water would stop coming out completely but would eventually start back up. Definitely not a deal breaker though!
