This hostel is amazing! I never rate 10/10 but Sonderia deserves it. The rooms on are on a quiet floor (and there is sign encouraging guests to BE quiet). I had a private room that was a good size, strong AC, windows, good water pressure, hot water, wifi was good, toiletries provided, room was secure and the whole place felt safe. There is a bar downstairs with live music but the sound does NOT carry to the sleeping floors, so problem there. Location is good, a quieter area but just a short walk away from the Wenshu Monastery pedestrian streets and sites. It is also on a main road and easy to pick up Didis. Most importantly, the staff here are absolutely incredible! Damon, Jenny, and Perri (as well as a few others that I didn't catch the names of) are absolutely fantastic! Everyone is so helpful and willing to make phone calls, look things up, help plan your trip, and answer any questions you have. I was absolutely amazed by their professionalism and friendliness. The hostel offers lots of tours for the surrounding sites. Many you can do on your own but the further away sites (like Leshan) are easier on tours due to transport. I booked a 4 Day Tibet tour with Damon and he did everything he could to help with flights, permits, bookings, and making sure I had a great time. The hostel works with Tibet Vista for their tours, which seems to be the largest tour provider for the typical Tibet tours. You will have an amazing time staying here! There truly wasn't anything I didn't like (which never happens!)

This was the only hotel during our trip to China that did not provide drinking water. We had to get water cup by cup from the bar, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, the price was slightly high compared to what was offered.

Everything exceeded our expectations, including the room, the vibes, the food, and the service. Room was way nicer than we expected. Seems to be the most active international hostel in Chengdu at the moment. The staff was exceptional, especially Amy was great. Highly recommend. Not much tbh.

What is not to like! The staff is sooo friendly and helpful and their English is excellent!! The draft beer was delicious and the in house food menu was great!! The kids got to try calligraphy which was a bonus! Great place for young and old alike, singles and families! Everyone was made to feel welcome! If we ever come back to Chengdu this is the place we would stay! The bathroom in the room could use a refresh and the shower leaked when being used and got the whole floor in the bathroom wet.

The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Always a pleasure talking to the staff and other guests, it was quite easy to meet guests and locals who attended the bar, live music. Hostel has a proper bar full of delicious drinks! Always live music with very talented locals. The rooms and common areas are kept clean and comfortable!

Good location, fairly clean, some things were a bit outdated but everything is functioning properly. Very nice bar and songs in the evening :) I recommend this place.

Amazing place. I am not exaggerating when i say the next time i come to china i will go to chengdu just to stay here again. the vibes were so great and the staff and people there were amazing. Plan your stay so you dont miss the dumpling party it was so fun.

I love this place❤️ I had the best time of my life. They have bar which is amazing ? location is perfect ? it’s close to temple! Subway,bus station are close and the Walmart is 2 mins away. You should definitely try food - dumplings ?? service is fantastic ? can’t wait to come again ?
