TRU by Hilton Chesapeake, VA

The property was to be expected. It was perfect for what we needed. The team members were friendly, and the breakfast was hot.

Our stay was ok… the room didn’t have an ice bucket in and the carpet outside the elevator was pretty filthy… check in was ok and easy!

We checked in while the Hilton system was down. The staff was extremely accommodating in helping us to get to our rooms and provided clear directions about what was going on, and how to proceed with our stay. Rooms were clean, bathrooms spotless, and bed was comfortable. My only one drawback (and this is me being extremely picky), the room air conditioner was a little loud, and I didn’t want to turn the TV up too loud as to disturb other patrons. Regardless, was a great stay to start our vacation time.

I had never stayed at a Tru hotel. Its minimalist style was a surprise! We were comfortable and well taken care of. The breakfast was nice. The staff were kind and accommodating. Apparently they were changing soap and shampoo dispensers, our dispensers were empty and dirty. The front desk gave us tubes of body wash to use. The hallways were dirty.

We checked in on Thursday room was nice and clean only to find out that they only clean your room every other day and that’s fine but when I asked for towels on Friday morning when leaving hotel at 10 am just to come back about 9 pm no towels well my room should have been clean on Saturday and it wasn’t meaning I need more towels I don’t use the same towel over and over also the towels wasn’t clean looked like they were washed but still dirt appeared on them. Breakfast was good fruit choices could be better strawberry’s were bad loved the boiled egg bagels omelet was horrible and oatmeal every day need to change up on that as well pancake machine was great and you really should consider other breakfast meat sausage is ok but not everyday. I loved the concession and being able to purchase sodas chips etc..There was no drawers for our clothes and very limited space to hang clothes . I chose Hilton because I’ve stayed at the Hilton twice in his year and this by far was the worst

Very clean hotel. Breakfast area was very clean with plenty of tables to have Breakfast at. Large breakfast choices. Options like eggs, oatmeal, pancakes, bagels. Staff was very friendly and professional.

The location was great and we felt safe. The breakfast was good also. The initial front desk clerk, Je’Von, was very professional, welcoming, and patient. There was a dead bug I discovered while cleaning after we checked in. I reported it, showing it to the front desk staff and I left my contact info for the manager to contact me. No one called me to follow up. We also reported a slow draining sink, we were told that someone from maintenance would be notified. No one contacted us. I did not observe any additional insects. On the last night some of the guests were so loud that they interrupted my sleep. I texted the front desk. No one responded. About a half hour later, I called the front desk, the gentleman who answered seemed annoyed saying that he had sent someone to check on my complaint, but did not observe any guests that were loud. The noise continued and then finally stopped around 1 :30. My family and I decided to get up and check out. Once downstairs, I observed the same person I conversed with on his cellphone discussing his digital content. I feel like he didn’t fully address my concerns, because of he allowed his personal life to interfere with his work. I cannot prove that, but that is the impression I get…

Check in was easy. Cleaning had a problem. left room for work, came back to someone had placed a do not disturb sign on the door so the cleaning crew did not clean the room. Talked with both front desk and later management. Still the next day they did not clean the room. 5 days without them cleaning the room or changing the towels.

Hotel was nice and clean but a little on the pricey side .staff was very friendly and answered questions. Price was high for one night booked weeks ahead of time

Our room smelled like a hospital. Carpet in hallway near elevator on 4th floor was dirty.

The ice machine was down one of the nights; however they had it fixed the next day.

We had breakfast in Knoxville. It was not good. Powdered eggs, nasty sausage. The bagel and cream cheese was ok. Coffee could have been better.
