Courtyard by Marriott Bethesda/Chevy Chase

The room was clean and well-appointed, if somewhat small. The bathroom had a strange projection sticking out of the wall which the door barely cleared, but otherwise it was fine. My husband and I decided to get snacks from the lobby in the evening and we weren't charged for them, which was nice. We were only guests for one night, as I was having a procedure done early in the morning at the surgical center in the building next door. This was very convenient; I'm surprised that more people don't seem to take advantage of this.

Location was fine. Room was nice. Checkout seemed to be a problem for the staff. Had trouble getting out of the garage. Too little staff.

Checked into one room and the door would not unlock with the key that was provided. Walked back to the front desk and was provided with another key that still did not open the door. Went back to the front desk and received a key for another room on another floor. That room was had a strong odor of mildew and just did not appear clean. Went back to front desk and received another room assignment. Room was just as smelly but at that point I was over returning to the desk and was only going to be in the room for the night! Took my son to the pool and there were no towel’s readily available. When front desk was called to receive towels they took over 25 minutes to bring them to the pool! Needless to say I was not impressed with this Marriott property. I liked Marriott previously because any property I had gone too was clean! I was greatly disappointed and will not look to book at a Marriott hotel as my first choice again!

The hotel is convenient located across from shops and restaurants. The Metro station is not far and the area around it is pleasant. I was visiting American University. It was easy to take the metro from Friendship Heights to Tenleytown-AU Station and take the shuttle to AU.

Nice hotel with friendly helpful staff. Great location with easy access to metro and major roads. Excellent breakfast at a great price. Will definitely come back!

Location was very near Metro stop. Clean, quiet room with comfortable bed. Desk had wheels and could be moved wherever I liked. No microwave in room. Ice machine all the way down in lobby. Some staff were indifferent. Parking was expensive. Weird shower door gets water on bathroom floor. Smallish rooms compared to newer hotels.

The staff and location to the zoo POOL: The pool should be open longer hours. Don't let the rotten apples punish the good people. Not even sure why so many pools are even installed. I go where the pool is, and it's why I choose the hotels I do. NO POOL, worse rating

Short walk to metro. Room was large and comfortable. Staff were pleasant. No good restaurants nearby.
