Baan Chiang Mai Hostel

I specifically booked because of the colourful vibes (and location) and OMG, such an incredibly vibey room, full of life, beautiful decorations, even the windows are colourful. The owner was very helpful and flexible. The noise of the street can be heard from inside the room but fortunately it is located on a very wuite street :)

The owner was great. The room was small but I liked it. It is super cozy and clean and comfortable. The bathroom is outside the room. But right there n front, not a big deal. The door is hard to open, and if you are chubby, you might have issue getting in hahah.

My room was nice and clean. The location was good with famous temples nearby. A variety of bars and restaurants to choose from, bike rentals, 7-eleven and laundry The host was not friendly at all, it was very hard to communicate with him and understand if he was listening or not! I arrived at 10 a.m; the owner told me there was a problem and the property won’t have electricity that day until 5! But when another guest arrived at 2 pm and asked for electricity he just turned it on in less than a minute! I was sitting in the dark and heat for 4 hours and understood that there were no problems at all! He just had to decide to turn the electricity on!!! And although the hostel was in an alley a bit away from the Main Street, still the noise was awful! I couldn’t sleep for the very first two nights … too many motor bikes in the middle of the night and they pass by the window with a very loud noise. A soundproof would do a lot! They were constructing new rooms to be added to the hostel, just beside the rooms and it got started at 6 a.m the very first day, lasted for hours! ? very annoying! The third day they started a bit later but still staying in the room was unbearable!

The bedroom was lovely and clean..I found it really comfortable even without air conditioning and the owner also very friendly too! Also the location is great, nice and quiet but still central to everything! The private bathroom is not in the room but opposite the bedroom which isn’t too much of an issue but just something to be aware of. There was a cockroach in the bathroom one evening but the helpful owner responded to my message right away to clear it for me and gave me something to keep over the shower drain to prevent any more from entering..I did not see any more after this :)

I loved the decor and homey feeling of this place. It was so clean and the owner was the kindest man. Location was close to the action but in a quiet neighborhood. The mattress wasn't the softest but I still got a great night's sleep.

Concrete and brick walls, lots of windows and natural light. The private room we rented felt very clean and well kept and smells wonderful. There are nice big lanterns with dimmer controls for excellent and relaxing low lighting. The owner- Mr. O has put a lot of consideration into making a comfortable space and was very kind. He also upgraded our room for us! The hotel/hostel is in a quiet alley and feels very safe. There’s a great coffee shop near by and a few little stores around the alley.

The owner Mr. O was lovely and friendly. The location was perfect for staying in the Old City. We really liked the old Lanaa style of the property and all renovations are in keeping with that style. Very clean. I was comfortable sleeping in the bed but my sister has hip issues and the bed was too hard for her. That’s typical of Thai beds.

location is great as it’s just a stone’s throw from Cannabis Cafe which was holding a conference then. power point placement was a little strange, but I’m just nitpicking because there isn’t anything else worth mentioning.
