MD House

The pool was clean and good size. Staff were ALWAYS helpful. We had poolside rooms and they were great! Location is wonderful. We have stayed there twice and I will stay there always when I visit Chiang Mai!

It is in a good walkable location close to many shops and restaurants and in the Tha Phae Gate area. The pool didn’t have loungers next to it, only chairs. And as mentioned in other reviews only gets the morning sun.

Great location close by a good night market and amazing coffee shops! Big, clean and comfortable room! The pool doesn’t get much sun, after 2 o’clock it’s shady and there are no loungers to lay on. There is the MD hotel in the same property that seems a bit cheaper than the Boutique one… not too sure why.

Nothing Ugly

The hotel was centrally located and within walking distance of the entire area. The room was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. However, the Wi-Fi was unreliable and required signing in each time it was used. The shower water was only lukewarm rather than hot. Cool shower, bad wi-fi

Good location overall. High price for the area.

Location, price, pool and room - very friendly and helpful staff; so nice to have a good sized pool that gets sun during the day (it makes a big difference to me to have it available) - also I really liked my room pool deck could use a cleaning, as it’s a high traffic area; can be loud at night in the street (tourists) but that doesn’t really bother me much - I can close the sliding door to the outside and turn on the A/C; I can still sleep just fine.

Clean,close to everything, friendly staff.

The staff was amazing, we planned to stay for 3 nights but ended up staying for 6! Great location, close to everything you need! Staff helped to arrange all of our outings and motorbike rental etc Only downside was that the pool was too cold to enjoy

Very good location. The WiFi never worked. The toilet was leaking and we had to beg them to clean the room.

MD House is conveniently located in the old town, a short walk from major sites. It's showing its age, though, and rooms look dated and need renovation. That more worn-in feel can be welcome, especially if it's reflected in lower rates. And rates at MD House tend to be a lot lower than those for newer, tonier hotels in the same area. Ancient sliding bolt locks on doors are difficult to open and close, and would cost very little to replace. Lights are also dated and provide only the most romantic illumination. The in-room safe was so old and rickety it provided very little (psychological) security, though the premises themselves are perfectly safe and under constant guard. Towels are of the lowest quality, a synthetic material that seems to repel rather than absorb water.

The staff was amazing and very helpful. Location was good as well! The pool was too cold to enjoy for my kids but we were busy with other excursions so didn’t mind too much!

Convenient location, staff was friendly. The lights in the room were very dim. There was a rooster very close by that woke me up each morning. The WiFi was weird—I had to keep logging in with each of my devices. I was hoping the pool might be long enough for swimming laps, but it wasn’t.

The location is great, very close to many wats. The staff was friendly and helpful The free wifi was weak and inconsistent often dropping out. The bathroom was never really cleaned in the week we were there and the toilet was dirty when we moved in.
