Nice place. Great location. One thing that did annoy me. They put a 100.00 hold on my card for every night I was there (three nights -300.00). I asked them when I would be reimbursed and they told me in 5-7 business days. I thought the purpose of giving them your CC was so they could charge the card at the end of the visits. Now they basically steal your money for the length of your visit. Here’s the math. They have 381 guest room. Assume they are full. Average length of stay is 3 night. 381x300 equals 114,300.00 that they get to hold for a week plus. Royal Sonesta is a chain of over 1000 hotels. Now they are holding 114m of our money (rough math). At a 9 % return, the parent company makes 10 million plus on our temporary invested. Kind of tired of getting screwed at every opportunity.

The hotel itself felt clean, modern, comfortable, and well maintained. My room was spacious, quiet, and relaxing, with a very comfortable bed and everything I needed for an enjoyable stay. I also appreciated the overall atmosphere of the property; it feels polished and upscale without being overly formal. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. Every interaction was pleasant, and the service helped make the experience feel smooth from beginning to end. Overall, this was an excellent stay and a great choice for anyone wanting to be centrally located in Chicago. Between the comfortable room, convenient location, cleanliness, and welcoming service, I would absolutely recommend The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown and would happily stay here again.

Everything was nice

Location was amazing. The bed was one of the best we have experienced. The staff was extremely helpful. The only downfall was the attached restaurant was extremely expensive for the food/drinks. We will stay there again though.

When you make your reservation, be sure to add the breakfast option. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every day. Our room was clean and comfortable . The staff was friendly and accommodating, bringing extra pillows and a blanket. Our view of the river from the 17th floor was spectacular. Centrally located, with land and water tours just steps from the hotel, it was easy to get around and pack a lot into a short time without feeling rushed or tired!. A short walk to Michigan Avenue, Millennium Park and Navy Pier, we even took in a Cubs-White Sox game!

This is an amazing hotel in the heart of Chicago. Highly recommended. I got an upgrade for a huge room apartment style with river and downtown view. Room was quiet and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located close to many attractions within walking distance. And public transportation is nearby. I did not need a rental or a taxi.

We had an incredible time at the Royal Sonesta Downtown. It was paradise. Every aspect was 11/10 for us. Staff, service, cleanliness, amenities, and location. I cannot say enough about how perfect the trip went thanks to our stay here. We WILL be back! Thank you to all for the great experience

Perfect location, large, clean room. Long check in but was compensated
-
the ac was not working properly in my room the entire stay and the wifi was spotty

Great location, wonderful views. The staff were friendly and helpful. Price not bad for the Chicago loop. We stayed 8 days in this hotel. The room itself wasn’t too comfortable. The bed was great. The chairs were uncomfortable. The closet was really small and awkward. The lighting was poor. I think if you’re there for a long weekend these things wouldn’t bother you.
