The room was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was nonexistent. There were no plates or napkins couldn’t find any juices. Most of the food offerings were well picked over. A little more attention on the free breakfast would go a long way for a higher evaluation.

Pleasant surprise for a 8 hour experience!

Neat, quite and nice staff

Loved the property. Super clean. Loved the fact that they offer complimentary bike rentals. Grab and go breakfast was not the best though. Very comfortable room and warm showers.

Clean room, cafeteria was on point, and pool area was fun 10/10

My only complaint was they were doing some very loud work on the roof right above our room and it went on for hours. I had to call twice to see if they could stop. It would be smart not to rent rooms if you’re doing construction above them. Aside from that, we had a great stay and we’ll definitely be back.

Very disappointing. The Rambler is advertised as being part of Sun Outdoors, but it’s actually across the street. The hotel was old, outdated, and looked nothing like the pictures. It felt more like a run-down motel. The overall atmosphere was uncomfortable, and we did not feel safe. Definitely would not recommend or stay again.

My stay was fine, The room was nice. However, the fact that I was charged $10/night + tax to have a fridge in the room shocked me, since all of the hotel rooms which I have stayed at over the past 30 years have had one, already included and no extra cost. That was a huge "turn-off", and the Rambler should consider putting an end to that practice. The breakfast is unbelievably basic as well. Be prepared to dish out $4-$10 for eggs and/or other proteins at the restaurant right beside the free breakfast area, if that is something that you're accustomed to, at other free breakfast hotels. The Rambler does have a very nice pen in the room that you can take with you as a souvenir when you leave.

The room was super cute, the bed was comfy and the water pressure was excellent. I would totally stay again!
-
The A/C was terrible, and we spent a very hot and uncomfortable night because the room never cooled down properly. To make matters worse, the “included breakfast” was already gone when we arrived at 8:48 AM. Even based on what little we saw, the breakfast was extremely basic and disappointing. Overall, between the poor air conditioning and the breakfast situation, the stay was far from comfortable and did not meet our expectations.

Amazing rooms and awesome pool

My husband and I loved The Rambler! It was such a fun stay and is super close to Imperial Beach. Seven Mile Casino is right next door, and there’s so much to do at the hotel itself! The pool is so nice and vibey, and they even played a movie by the pool on Saturday, which was such a fun touch. They also have pinball machines and a cute little arcade area. We had such a great time and will definitely be back!

Clean rooms

Conveniently located for easy access on I-5 this hotel is a nice budget hotel that is clean, and friendly. The decor is fun and reminds me of a Route 66 type vibe. There is breakfast provided which is cereal, waffles, toast, small muffins coffee etc. if you want eggs, bacon etc you are able to purchase at the cafe there which also offers specialty coffees and lunch as well. It’s a nice place and we will return.

Rooms clean and staff pleasant

Please be aware this is a Motel not a Hotel as Expedia advertises. It is a bit older but fixed up really nice. Our stay there was excellent. The staff was awesome. They give you the option of having your room freshened each day and new towels each day. The pool was really nice and relaxing. They offer a poolside movie each Saturday night. The breakfast was simple but you were able to upgrade at the little restaurant. They have bikes to use for a little exercise. We spent 6 nights there and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Small thing. Having fan automatically come on with bathroom light was annoying during the night.

This is a great place to stay! The only drawback was that the room did not have a refrigerator or microwave. Other than that, we found it to have a fun vibe!
