The hotel is out of date and in poor repair. The smell was bad and the tile floors were sticky. The ice machine was leaking water onto the floor. Exiting the elevators to the second floor the hallway trash can was overflowing onto floor. In the room the decor was similarly outdated. The bath room had a motion sensor light and would turn on while sitting on the bed and sensing my motion, but only stays on for about 2 minutes which only became a problem while showering and being plunged into complete darkness while in the shower because it didn’t sense my motion with the shower curtain closed. I would have to reach out of the shower and wave my arm to get 2 more minutes of light and then repeat until my shower was finished. I booked for 2 night but checked out early on day 2 because I would rather lose the money and make the long drive home than stay a second night. As for positives, the air conditioning was adequate and the free breakfast was adequate for the low price of the hotel. The staff was the real positive and after finding out that 3 to 4 people had all been booked under a single name were able to sort it out and get my room to me quickly. They were friendly and understanding when I told them that I would be checking out early. Also I don’t know if this is a normal circumstance there but the seemingly homeless couple that was camped out by the front door was disconcerting and I choose to use the side entrance after getting my room key.

Staff was ambivalent with regards to handicapped person. I'm in a wheelchair. I need 2 beds because of back and leg issues. The property only had ONE accessible room. Really...ONE? with a king bed?! The room was already reserved by someone else and my request was ignored. They did put me on room near the lobby that DID fit a wheelchair... just barely but I could at least go to the bathroom. They put me in a shower only room and got me a still that wasn't really steady enough to sit on, so no shower for me. They did try but I don't feel the protest is ADA compatible. Also. One person working breakfast and check out so check out was not properly done. I also had issues with them wanting me to check out and check back in because I added an additional night to my reservation. Then once it was discussed Three times: one by phone a week before. At check in and the morning of the additional stay they CALLED ME and said. Hey do you know your stuff is still in the room? I mean where is the communicating between then? Noon existent.

It was a good location and served our purpose and our budget. When the first room had an issue it was an easy stop to get assigned a different room. Nearby resturant TASTE THE TWIST BAR & GRILL (close enough to walk to) is worth going for some of the best Soul Food I have ever had. Breakfast was not great. The elevator was a little scary (one ride in particular it made a loud mechanical noise and jerked significantly that the drink in my hand splashed out half the cup.) The back wall when we come in the first day on our floor had something green growing on it - though I do think they got it painted before we left.

The bed was comfortable. Well where to start? The room had many mechanical issues…the outlet by the bed looked like it had a fire, the one in the bathroom didn’t work, no hair dryer, metal sticking out of the unit that held the tv. It needed lots to be even close to ok.

Overflowing garbage can and big box of garbage on the 2nd floor was there when I checked in at 3pm, still there the next morning, entire 2nd floor smelled of garbage. Automatic lights in bathroom come on as soon as you step out of bed on other side of wall but go off while in shower leaving room pitch dark, elevators seem either very old or in need of repairs,. Very rough

The hotel was gross. I had to ask them to change the garbages after being there 3 nights and it took 2 other reminders to actually do it. Pretty shady and gross experience
-
Room was clean, the beds were not to bad. The TV was a little small. I wasn't a fan of the breakfast, but it was good and free.
