Just awesome...

Very close to everything, walkable distance to nice restaurants and cafes. Came for the Biennale and everything was right there. The place itself is a lovely old house which has been kept in that style. The staff was more than helpful, you felt at home right away as if you’d belong to the family. Very good breakfast! Thanks again, you made my stay memorable and I’ll definitely come again! Bathroom and A/C could do with a renewal.

Beautiful old house, with wooden furniture and a special ambience. Was great talking with Marcus, who is very friendly and made me feel at home.

Nothing I had booked 2 rooms at Ballard Bungalow 45 days in advance via booking.com 48 hours before we were due to check in - I got a whatsapp message saying that our 2 rooms had been confirmed. On the evening of that day, I was sent another message "Sorry not confirmed" followed by "I forgot to put the word not I am really sorry" "Your rooms are not confirmed" "I am sorry for not putting the word 'not'" These messages were sent less than 36 hours before we were due to check in - no explanation, no offer to help us find another place, nothing. Just washed their hands off the matter, like it had nothing to do with them.

Really good location The place has huge potential but it’s not used well. Can be more clean. The washroom need a lot of improvement.

It's a beautiful heritage Dutch building. Huge dark wood bed. Marcos was very attentive and I formative. He booked our river cruise for us. The breakfast was delicious. Nothing

We recently spent a night at Ballard Bungalow in Fort Kochi and felt compelled to share our incredible experience. Nestled in the heart of this historic town, the bungalow is a stunning example of heritage architecture, with its meticulously preserved vintage wooden furniture, gleaming polished floors, and beautifully maintained roof. Every detail exudes charm and craftsmanship, making it a tranquil retreat. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the water metro(precisely a minute), offering easy access to Fort Kochi’s vibrant cafes, colonial sites, and serene backwaters. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was Marcus, our host. His warm hospitality, insightful local knowledge, and attentiveness created a deeply personal and enriching experience. We highly recommend Ballard Bungalow to anyone seeking a blend of history, comfort, and authentic Kerala hospitality. It’s not just a place to stay—it’s a journey into the soul of Fort Kochi. P.S. Marcus’s recommendations for local eateries and hidden gems were a bonus we’ll never forget! That we stayed only 1 night.

Booking.com confirmed the booking. I had to change the dates to check in one day later, though booking.com. A few days later booking.com told me that they had not received a response from to hotel, so I should contact them. I emailed the hotel and received no response, so I called up the hotel and spoke to Mr. Marquis who said(quote), okay, okay , no problem, I will make the change. Two weeks later, the booking status on booking.com was still showing the old booking date. So I sent another email to the hotel and as usual received no response. I once again spoke to Mr Marquis, who again spoke about the confirmation of the old dates. I then reminded him about the email and telecom and as usual he said ok,ok no problem. I reached Cochin on 12th Jan 2025 and spoke to Mr Marquis, and again he spoke about the old dates, so I had to remind him about the 2 emails as well as two telecons, pat came his reply, okay okay you come to the hotel. When we reached the hotel we checked in. I met Mr Marquis in the evening and he repeated the same old dates and said that I would check out the next day. So I had to again remind him about the emails and telecons. And again he said okay, okay we will manage. At 9.30 pm he messaged and said that we would have to vacate because he had overbooked, but he had arranged for another hotel . A similar message was sent the next day in the morning. Anyone who reads this message would surely conclude that Mr Marquis is not trustworthy. The Bed is at a height, so one has to use a footstool to climb, which is not a good point considering it may have to be used in the night. Plenty of mosquitoes in the room and with a high ceiling, it becomes more difficult to manage this issue. The mosquito repellant did not manage to control this situation. However Mr Marquis was very helpfull and took me on his scooter to check the Mass timings as well as pointed towards a few landmarks.

Basic but clean hotel with very friendly staff and massive rooms. Interesting mix of antique furniture including very big four poster beds. Great location - only a short distance from the fishing nets and shops. Unfortunately we were woken up by noisy guests at 3am in the night. Our room was also facing a noisy street. The electricity in the room was temperamental and not al lights / sockets worked.

The host is fantastic, Marcos took care of all sightseeing needs, breakfast, suggestions, booking shows and outings.

Brilliant location, great breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. Really good value. Bathroom was a little basic, but adequate and although the old fashioned bed looked great, the mattress had seen better days.
-
Perfectly located - right at the jetty. The entire staff, lead by the manager Markose are super helpful & very pleasant!! The Bungalow in itself is utterly gorgeous, dating back to the 1700’s - with the history of the house palpable in each corner!
