Lindner Hotel Cologne Am Dom, part of JdV by Hyatt

We specifically booked this hotel because it advertised air conditioning. That was the main reason we chose it. When we arrived, the AC did not work, and the room was unbearably hot. We couldn't sleep at all because of the heat. We immediately went to reception and asked them to fix the problem or offer another solution. They simply told us there was nothing they could do. Since the room was not as advertised, we asked for a refund so we could stay somewhere else. They agreed and assured us that our money would be returned within a few days. That was two months ago. We are still waiting for our refund despite their promise. Once they had our money, they stopped keeping their word. This has been one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have ever had. Poor customer service, no accountability, and no respect for their guests. If you are visiting during the hot season, avoid this hotel unless you are prepared to spend the night in unbearable heat. Think twice before trusting any promises about refunds.

Location and staff Room was leaking water from the ceiling

Everything was great. Large, comfortable room. First bathtub on our euro trip so that was a nice surprise :) Great breakfast selections. Despite first floor room mostly very quiet. Location excellent, about 5 minute walk from the main train station and the cathedral. Our room shared a door with the adjacent room so when we first arrived we could clearly hear the people next door talking, the TV, etc. Thankfully they seemed to have the same sleep schedule as us so it wasn't an issue but it definitely could have been.

Very few parking spaces available

Location is close to the train station. The room was basic and poorly equipped, with weak Wi-Fi, an empty shower gel dispenser, no slippers, and no convenient charging outlets by the bed. The bathtub was unusually high and unsafe to step out of — I almost slipped. Soundproofing was terrible: nearby construction was clearly audible, and doors closing in other rooms caused noticeable vibrations. Overall, very disappointing for the price.

One would normally beg off a hotel close to the Dom and train station due to noise and lack of cleanliness, but this is the opposite. The hotel conveniently found a quiet spot to settle. The internal atmosphere is modern and tranquil and the staff bent over backwards to serve our needs. The rooms themselves were spacious and clean. Very comfortable. And the price was perfect. Book online for the best deal.

Perfect location if you're there to see the DOM and Ludwig Museum! Very clean property and the staff were very helpful. The room was a goid size and the bar/restaurant area was very relaxing.

Location and great breakfast. The shower is like a timer. It stops after a few minutes then you have to press the button by the faucet. The bath tub does not have a shower curtain . So when you use the shower, floors will be wet.

Centric, clean, spacious. Breakfast excellent and delicious variety of foods and drink ( coffee, juices and water)

The room was spacious and clean. The size of the balcony was nice, plenty of room for more than one person. The location was pretty good; we could easily walk to all nearby attractions. The staff was very nice and helpful and were able to answer any questions we had. Although they had a decent number of offerings for breakfast, the items that were supposed to be hot were just lukewarm. Other than that, it was pretty good. The view from the balcony was not the best, unfortunately it faces a building that looks like it is being torn down at the moment.

Had to wait to check in as the night guy was somewhere else. Not taking card payments for the kiosk. Being woken up at 10am by the cleaner knocking on the door (I had to check in in the early hours of the morning so I was asleep - although to be fair I didn't put the do not disturb sign in the door). I did think it was rather strange that the guy checking us into a 4 star hotel was wearing ripped jeans and a jumper - I would of expected some sort of uniform

In the room was a little bit cold, but still comfortable

The location was great. Very close to the train station, cathedral and a short walk to the old town and Lindt chocolate museum. Nice to have the option of the pool which was heated. The kids enjoyed it. The heating system wasn’t working in both our rooms. One room was set at 17oc and the other room at 25.5oc. We were told that nothing could be done other than giving us a small portable heater which didn’t help. Myself and my daughter were so cold we ended up moving to my husband and son’s room. This room was sooo hot. None of us slept. When our room was made up the next morning, the coffee, teas etc were not topped up by housekeeping.
