XII Apostel Hotel Albergo

Das Hotel liegt mitten in der Altstadt von Koeln und nur 10 min Fussweg vom Bahnhof & Dom. Die Zimmer sind recht gross und ausreichend ausgestattet. Ein elektrischer Wasserkocher waere gut, da wir fuer unser Kleinkind heisses Wasser brauchten und Hotelangestellte gerade am Morgen schwer zu finden waren. Die schoene Lage in der Altstadt hat den Nachteil dass es Nachts sehr laut ist. Das ist kein Problem wenn man die Fenster schliesst, aber wir hatten sehr hohe Temperaturen und wollten die Fenster auflassen... Die Rezeption ist oft nicht besetzt und wenn dort jemand ist dann ist das Verhalten zwar korrekt aber nicht sehr freundlich. Schade!

Centrally located. We got to check in early which was a plus. With the windows closed you don’t hear the chaos from the street, but there is no AC so the windows stayed open. They never cleaned our room and we stayed 3 days.

Well-located, within walking distance of many local sights, and surrounded by places to eat. WiFi was weak and intermittently went out; reported the situation to staff, who did not resolve the matter and were dismissive of suggestions that there was a problem and that rebooting a router might have helped

Very good location that is right in the tourist area with dining and night life, right outside the door. The room and bathroom were adequately sized and comfortable. The available breakfast was fairly decent and was generally worth it. Being in the middle of a vibrant area, the noise in the night can fairly loud. If you're a partier, you'll never notice that since you'll be out there making noise. But for those that retire early, you should plan on having ear plugs. The shower area has no door, so you have to use care to avoid flooding the bathroom floor with spray.

The location We were right above the Christmas market, so the noise was horrible all night plus there was no Wi-Fi the whole time we were there and when you took a shower, the water ran into the bedroom. We had to barricade it with towels.

The restaurant was excellent, and the room was comfortable, but it was kind of bare There was not someone always at the front desk to help you

The location is in the heart of Heumarket allowing for access to the Rhine, the KVB tram lines, as well as the Schildergasse pedestrian shopping district and around 5 minutes walk through Altermarket & shopping district to the Dom You can take a short walk from the Koeln Central Station, perhaps 8-9 minutes) to the hotel, passing by the Cathedral on the way, or you can take the subway (KVB system not DB system) walking down the pedestrian market from Neumarket stop using lines 16/18 or about 1-2 minutes if you take line and disembark at Heumarket if you switch to line 1/7 at Neumarket and travel 1 stop. The Hotel is a great location if you are attending any events at Koelnmesse with access to the front entry via the KVB 16/18 lines from Neumarket around 6 minutes walk or a minute or two walk to KVB lines 1/7 which takes you to Deutz/Messe stop and you can enter Koelnmesse from the side The room was quite large by Cologne standards with a small balcony and view of the square. Windows are sturdy and kept the noise outside down to a minimum despite the busy nature of the square. Bathroom was larger than expected and was well maintained. The hotel is starting to look a little uncared for with worn carpet and generally looking untidy in all the common areas I was surprised by the cleaning level in the room itself finding a large ball of hair near the night stand so the hotel needs to upgrade its cleaning procedures. The rooms floor is entirely ceramic which can be a bit tricky if its wet outside but in theory makes cleaning easier, which makes the hair find a bit more confusing Another rather minor irritant is the only English TV channel is CNN, so no entertainment really and not even the BBC, France 24 English or DW English which would have been helpful given I was there on 9/11 and the air raid sirens and emergency text were a bit of a jolt-- hardly the hotels fault but European English channels would be a big plus

The property had a great location. However, that came with lots of partiers and bar hoppers that I made it a little bit. I'm too crowded on weekend night

Great location, walking distance to attractions and train station. Easy check-in and check-out. Good for a short stay. Shabby and dusty room, rough towels, hygiene materials at a critical minimum

A large, comfortable room with a lovely view in the center of the old town. The heat and shower worked, there were complimentary slippers, what more could I ask? Good location near sites, restaurants and museums.

Not easy to access wi-fi

The hotel is in excellent location and has all the facilities. The majestic Cologne cathedral is just at walkable distance. Bed and pillows could have been better.
