Towneplace Suites by Marriott Columbus

The only issue I had was at check in. There was only one person working and there were 20 people in line waiting to check in. When it was my turn, I had several rooms that I had booked. It took over 20 minutes just for my rooms. After I was finished my friend behind me checked in, she had a reference #. When she gave it to the person working, she said that I had that reference # and I just checked her in. How did this hotel give her reference # when she called to make a reservation? How did expedia or the hotel give her one of my rooms without my permission? The hotel was full so my friend didn't get to stay.

It was in a convenient location. When we arrived no one was at the front desk. We waited about 5 to 20 minutes and then a gal came . She was wearing like a black sweatsuit. Her hair was a mess and she wasn’t not pleasant but didn’t smile or may make us feel welcome. I think the Marriott brand could do better. These check in staff represent your company brand and it wasn’t pretty.

We then contacted Expedia via chat and the agent was no help. Didn’t offer to help us find another hotel or anything. I have never had such bad service from Expedia. I expect it from Hotels.com but until this experience Expedia had been helpful. We were told we would hear back from Expedia and two days later still nothing. I would never use this hotel and am questioning the benefits of expedia at this moment too.

Breakfast was freah

We loved the clean room and amenities. It was a busy weekend and the staff maintained the lobby and the breakfast area even with the large amount of guests.

I prepaid for the room 2 weeks before we arrived. On day of arrival we were told they "overbooked" the hotel and we don't have a room. Very poor owner/management.

Traveling for baseball. We booked our room 3 weeks in advance only to arrive and be told they overbooked, so they changed us to a king room instead, which did not accommodate ourselves and our kids. They also cancelled a teammates room as well with no notice until they tried to check in bc they ‘overbooked’. Leaving them stranded looking for a hotel at 8pm at night. Another teammates shower would not turn on and they couldn’t reach anyone to help. The next morning when trying to leaving the door in our room would not unlock. Luckily my husband was able to get it open. Don’t plan on staying again as the staff and management were very rude. We tried to talk to them, as I was just curious what our rate was for the room since it changed. They workers hid from us in the office so they didn’t have to talk to us. I just had a simple question. They also hid from some other families on our team when they just tried to ask a question or needed help. Oh the pool and a door to the patio wouldn’t open either so we had to knock until someone else let you in. Also there was no breakfast left when I came down at 9am. Honestly I wasn’t surprised.

Breakfast was wonderful. It was very busy when we went through, but the staff had everything covered. Plenty of food and plenty of choices. Very friendly atmosphere. I don't have a single complaint. Everything and everyone was wonderful. The staff was top notch in aspect of our stay (hotel/restaurant/casino). We will be planning another trip there soon.
