great location, good vibe There is no desk in the room and the light in the bathroom can only controlled automatically which is no convenient.

Functional building with lively shared spaces. The building itself is nice and there’s some opportunities to socialize if you’re into that. Fair prices for the city. I visited the property in August and the place was mostly occupied by families (couples + two children) who would book entire rooms for themselves because I guess that’s a cheaper option than staying at a hotel. Also beware in this hostel you have to pay for EVERYTHING. Want to use the pool? Pay. Want to use the gym? Pay. Want to use the kitchen? Pay. They advertise all of these facilities but in the end you have to pay for everything so no one uses them. The bathrooms in the dorms are also TINY. I wish they had some shared bathrooms as an alternative.

If you’re looking for a reasonable place to stay with a great location, this is a ideal place. However, the staff is very passive and not helpful. We stayed in a for person family room. The room is very small (beds and a walk way) and the bathroom is sliding glass door that provides little privacy in terms of sound. The hostel didn’t clean our room after four days although we were told they would. . The reception staff provided no guidance at check-in. We witnessed multiple guests come down asking to use the pool only to be told a reservation was required when this information was not relayed at check-in. We witnessed reception staff curse at a group of German travelers and tell them to shut-up. Staff congregate in a far corner where they could not see guests waiting to order food and drink and when you searched them out they make you wait until they finished their conversation to assist you. We witnessed staff toss food at guests. The dining space has doors that open to the outside which is nice except smoking is allowed right outside so it feels like you are sitting in the smoking section of a restaurant in the 1980’s. As a family with kids I’d probably find a different accommodation.

The location is unbeatable. Large parking space underground which is a rarity for central Copenhagen cheaper hotels. Spacious lobby with cafe where you can hang out. That you can’t book a parking space in advance and that the staff doesn’t seem to have a good overview over how many spaces are free. That the staff doesn’t speak danish. Other hotel guests returning late at night and making a lot of noise in the hallway and waking us up.

The place is well-equipped and I felt comfortable in general. I wish I had read before that I would need a lock. I must have missed that comment or maybe it is not mentioned. I think that this building is meant for solo travelers, and, in that way, I would improve maybe the bunk beds. Nothing is bad, but just as a comment. For example, my plane was at 6am and I had to get up at 3am. Even though the roomates (who I did not know beforehand) tried to be careful, I could hear everything: shower, lockers, door, etc. Maybe it would be an excellent idea to come up with a system for clients to be able to close their part of the bunk bed and have more privacy.

I was not provided with the housing I paid for and the money was not refunded.

Clean, neat. Good facilities. Great location. The only things I would say is the bathroom and shower lights that are turning on automatically, when you walk past. Plus the heavy glass doors on the toilet and shower that are quiet noisy.

While it was quite difficult for our family of six to find suitable accommodation, we were happy to find our place at Steel House. The kids had a great time! The room was clean, spacious enough for everyone, and the location was excellent (walking distance to main places). We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Steel House to other travelers.

Excellent location. Really clean & full of facilities. You have to pay for the kitchen & to put your bag in a locker while you wait for check in. I have never seen this before in a hostel. Kitchen should be included in the overall price. & bag storage before check in should be free.
