Great hotel. Worth the premium rate

The night receptionist greeted me very politely at 4am (I drove a rented car from Chicago O’Hare, after my plane was delayed); he extended my check out time to 1 pm. The hotel was clean, felt quite luxurious, the room was very nice, and the breakfast was delicious. When my wife checked our credit card statement 1-2 weeks later, to our surprise, I was double-charged. When I called Booking, I was told to call the hotel directly, which I did. The receptionist, Wyatt, was not very polite; he told me that I should have called the hotel in advance to inform me about my possible late arrival. Since I did not call, my reservation was “cancelled” at 3 am and my credit card was double-charged. When I was making my reservation from the delayed plane, there was no mention of any need to call about possible late arrival, and the very polite receptionist who checked me in at 4 am never mentioned any issues with my late arrival… When I called Booking again, a nice lady stated I should not have been double-charged, sent me an email with a form to fill out to resolve this dispute, but the form “froze” in the middle of filling it out, and I could never come back to it. I know now which hotel (and perhaps which hotel chain) to avoid, which is a shame, as I stayed in the Hyatt in Keystone, CO many times before and liked it very much.

Very nice location, friendly staff and good quality. While the staff was attentive and did provide the free breakfast vouchers on time, I experienced some significant issues with the hotel elevator. The elevator appears to be quite old and was very slow to respond when signing in to the desired floor level. I had two times being carried to higher level. More concerningly, during one instance, I pushed the button to go up, but as I walked in, the door started to close and hit my shoulder. I wanted to bring this to your attention so that your maintenance team can look into the elevator's timing and safety sensors.

The breakfast was served in the restaurant right inside the hotel. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The amenities were great. Everything was very clean. The king bed was one of the worst nights of sleep I had. The mattress was not comfortable at all and the pillows were very flat. For the price, I expected much better.
