Spent 6 glorious days with Piero and his wonderful team at "hidden gem" Villa Orietta. As a world traveler for more than 40 years, I seek special boutique small hotels/villas that offer a unique and personal experience. Villa Orietta exceeded every one of those expectations. Located slightly uphill on the west side of busy Cortina, we we enjoyed spectacular views every morning and night, missed the dense traffic in town and were just at 10 minute walk away. The rooms were spacious and facilities all updated in the last 3 years, feeling both modern and mountain rustic at the same time. Run by Piero and his family for 50 years, this has the intimate feel and service you would have staying with close friends who looked after every need. Breakfasts each morning were wonderful. The in house restaurant is adequate but not the reason to stay there. Having said this, Piero's wine cellar is a gem, reflecting his personal interests and connections with great wine properties. We will be back. The restaurant was adequate, but having been closed for 6 weeks, was not a match for the other top restaurants that we visited in town.

Everything! Beautiful location, superbly appointed and cleaned. The service was extraordinary, the room would be reorganized and cleaned twice daily, the breakfast was fantastic and made fresh daily. The restaurant in the premises was marvelous. The staff and owners were incredibly helpful and attentive to every detail. I especially thank Mr. Piero his kindness in taking us to the station early in the morning, because our cab did not arrive! Fantastic. Will certainly return! Nothing

As an architect, I often notice opportunities for improvement in almost every property we visit. However, upon checking into Villa Oretta, I could not find a single thing I would change. From the moment we arrived, the experience was flawless. We were greeted warmly by the owner and offered complimentary coffee and water while our room was being prepared — a thoughtful touch that set the tone for our stay. Once in our room, everything—from the layout to the finishes—reflected impeccable taste and attention to detail. Villa Oretta achieves that rare balance of charm, comfort, and design excellence that leaves nothing wanting. A truly exceptional experience. We visited toward the end of the Dolomites travel season, so the property’s restaurant was understandably closed. It would be unreasonable to expect the entire kitchen and staff to remain in operation for just a handful of guests.

Don't let the lack of reviews scare you, the hotel is new but it is top tier.
