Balboa Inn, On the Beach

Very good

Great location near everything, helpful staff and accommodations.

The property is in a perfect location - across the street is the beach and pier and in the opposite direction it is steps from the Fun Zone and the Balboa Ferry. They have valet parking but it is expensive. We parked in the public parking and had no trouble. They have a included continental breakfast with prepackaged muffins but literally on the corner is a nice restaurant for breakfast and in the "lobby" (breezeway at the bottom of the stairs) is a restaurant we did not eat at but is convenient. The pool is small and the jacuzzi was busy. We did not use them but they are on property. The place is bigger than it looks - it is mostly on the second and third floors above the shops and restaurant at street level. The room was smallish but the bed was nice.

It's in a perfect location to easily walk to the beach, restaraunts and bars.

Location was great. Not sure what happend but there was blood on the wall and elevator wall for 2 days before it was cleaned.

The location is perfect. Staff is very helpful And friendly. The view is beautiful. Easy access to food, bars And beach. The parking fees are a bit steep. It’s a little loud by the pedestrian path.

Nothing The hotel and rooms were rundown, dirty and the staff were rude. I should have known better when we checked in the front desk person, Renee was inhospitable and arrogant. I would not recommend this hotel.

Location Parking

Loved the location, it was perfect since we had plans for the ferry ride to visit Catalina. Cute shops, boardwalk and restaurant options in the immediate area. Only downsize was not having a small fridge in the room.

Not the best experience, rooms were clean but the place itself was lackluster. Parking was awful and way too expensive

location is great. I booked a deluxe room paid two and half months in advance. I called a few days before we arrived to make sure they had our booking and full payment. When we arrived at 4:30 to check in they gave us a standard room and that they did not have the deluxe room we paid for. They also said that these are the rooms that are given to people that book through booking.com. We were told they had no other rooms available. It's a total scam and would never return to this property.
