We stayed one night passing through. It was suitable for the night. It was VERY TINY.
-
The host was very welcoming. It was nice to experience this historic motel. The rooms are comfortable and it was convenient to have a kitchen. The hotel provided a light breakfast with a sunny deck to enjoy the morning.
-
A very clean quaint chalet we stayed in 2 nights. Close to everything!
-
Comfortable, convenient location.

The town was an easy walk away, with a few restaurants, shops, and bars. Mount Rushmore was only about 30 minutes away, making this a perfect little stay for seeing the sights. If you don’t appreciate older, charming motels, this probably isn’t the place for you—but honestly, that would be your loss!

Instead we got stuck in the back half of the little cabin. You couldnt enter wifi password. It was super hot and our space had no air conditioning. We had to have windows and doors open. Not even close to advertised. Dont stay here.

The location in the town of Custer is very convenient.

An older unique motel that has been well kept. A great place to stay if you want to skip the big hotels and enjoy a feel of the past.
-
cute place, it could use a little updating but then would probably be more expensive. in a great location!
-
Super clean and in a great location. The beds were very comfortable and we truly appreciated the grab n go breakfast in the morning. I would stay here again and again!!!!

This is a charming pet-friendly place to stay in Custer. An old-fashioned motel with individual "cabins" with everything you need-nothing fancy. They put out a grab and go breakfast of juices, yogurts, and muffins. The staff is great-friendly and helpful. Felt very welcome and safe. Right on the main road in Custer. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants. A great value for the price!
-
Nice little room with a kitchenette. Great location near downtown Custer. Breakfast was just fair and served late (7:30).
-
Great cozy place to stay for the night. Great staff

We love staying at the Chalet, our 6th year in a row. Michele the owner is very accommodating and takes care of any needs. This charm was built in the 1930’s, small but clean and very well located.

This property is always very clean, and I enjoy the variety of accommodations available. I’ve stayed here many times, and in different chalets throughout the ones available. The staff is very friendly, the owner is a lovely lady, I try to stay here every time I’m in Custer! It’s an eclectic, historical place. Guests need to appreciate it for its uniqueness and preservation of original features!!

Everything was excellent.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The bed was comfy. I enjoy staying in these types of old "Route 56" accomodations. My only drawback was that although there is a window air conditioner, the window is above the headboard on the bed, so if you want it cold, you have to sleep through that. To be fair, these are old buildings and there really isn't a better place to put the AC unit.
-
Very cute property. These are old units and show their age. The floors are in level and doors stick. Great beds. Window units for AC. Charming property overall. Would stay again.
-
Very cute little motel! The location is great and the room was clean and adequate. I was a little disappointed by the air conditioning unit being right above the bed, I was sneezing all night. Make sure to bring your own hair conditioner, they don't provide it! The late night employee was very kind and he helped me a lot when someone was parked in my spot. Overall very agreeable and I would stay here again.

Nice little cabin. Good location for visiting all the Black Hills' attractions. Easy walking down Main Street.
