Location was walking distance from the town which was perfect. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and the hostel is so artsy and cute. Breakfast was the best I had since staying in hostels; it included eggs, bread, cereal, milk, butter, jam, bologna, tea options and coffee and there’s a kitchen space to cook whatever you want. Staff are welcoming and help with whatever I needed. Bear packer is like a home away from home.

Excellent stay! The breakfast is super complete, and I loved that you can use the dining areas as a workspace for remote work right after. The beds are very comfy, the rooms are quiet for sleeping, and there are clean bathrooms everywhere. It’s a fun, international environment where you can even park your motorcycle inside securely. The perfect balance of social vibes and comfort in Cusco!

Hot water in the shower if you wait long enough for it. Breakfast is decent. Staff were terrible in how they treat guests. When I was standing in the door to get picked up for my tour of sacred valley any minute, a staff member suddenly demanded that I pack my stuff and change rooms because they need to paint it. They didn’t say anything about that the night before when I was paying for my stay in that room. When I came back from the tour, they tried to put me in an 8 bed dorm even though I booked a 4 bed. Then he tried to overcharge me for the new 4 bed room even though the hostel sold me the room that wasn’t available. Then they tied to overcharge me again on the exchange rate, even though their own website shows the prices in dollars and soles so you can see exactly how much you need to pay. They advertise tours so I asked a staff member about one and he wouldn’t help me at all. The next morning another staff member explained and booked a city tour for me, however he told me the wrong information about the meeting point and the fees. I ended up having to chase the tour down, missing a part of it and paying a surprise fee almost as much as the tour price. He spoke perfect English so it wasn’t just a misunderstanding. After this experience, I booked my next tour of sacred valley directly with a company and it was much cheaper (50 soles versus 75 through the hostel so they charge 50 percent more). Also there are no shelves for the bunks so if you’re on too there is nowhere to put things except in the bed while you sleep. They don’t bother to refill the liquid soap containers even if you ask while they are cleaning. Also on my last night I was staying in the room next to the common area and asked a staff member about the music since it was past 11. He said he will tell the person to turn it off and never did.

Such a cute nice stay right next to the center! The staff was always very helpful with us parking our motorbikes in and the breakfast is buffet style so never started the day hungry.

The kitchen, the energy, the hot water, the art and the nice beds
-

Matías (the young guy at the lobby) was super nice. Always was helping me with directions and different information. Not hot water, the duvets were very dirty

Disappointing

The location was good. They allowed us to check in early after a night bus and provided luggage storage free of charge. Our booking made through booking.com was not on the hostel system but they did give us a room anyways. However I expect this could have been an issue in high season if the hostel was fully booked. Breakfast was included so for our early starts (3.45 am) we had requested in advance to take a packed breakfast with us. However when we went to pick it up in the morning there was no breakfast there and we had no other option at the time of day. That said, they did have breakfast ready for us the following morning. The water frequently stopped running meaning we couldn’t always shower or use the kitchen etc. The kitchen was filthy. There was food left in pots and pans on the counter and cupboards instead of storing it in the fridge. There were frying pans full of used oil in the oven. We had specifically booked this hostel because we wanted access to a kitchen but didn’t use it again after our first experience because it was so disgusting.

Jose offered me a free upgrade with a private bathroom in a girls-only room! Excellent for a night of rest and above all I was worried that I was alone with girls, I loved their friendliness, the hostel is nice, it has a kitchen which is a great advantage, a few blocks from the historic center of Cusco

The room was large and clean, good bed and nice private bathroom. There was music in the patio till 10pm but then it was quiet. In the morning someone was sitting in the patio talking on their phone at 7am. Sound travels but it seems like at least everyone respects the hours. It’s not a party hostel. You can get in 24 hours. Good location. The breakfast was just coffee, tea, basic bread, butter and jam and there was a bowl of chopped up pineapple that didn’t look great. I don’t know if there was more because the staff that was there completely ignored me and didn’t offer anything else. The staff is not particularly friendly but they attended ok at the reception. The breakfast staff didn’t attend me at all. WiFi was not good.

One of the best hostel where we stayed in Peru. Position is perfect, less than 10 minutes from the main square and 2 minutes from the main market. The host Josè was very kind and super friendly, he makes the difference and makes you feel to be in a family. Breakfast is good and we met a lot of interesting people from different countries. Rooms are clean and there is also a common room for watching tv. Finally there is the possibility to store baggage for free.
